Hello,

Did anyone had this experience? I called the USCIS 1-800 number to check on the status of my wife's green card status. I'm the petitioner, it seems that USCIS won't answer any of my questions regarding my wife's case without my wife being present with me. What if I ask some lady to tell she's my wife, so I can talk to USCIS, how would they know it's really my wife? They're making a difficult situation, more difficult. I don't even see the point of this.

My wife's green card will expire in December, so just trying to check the status.

Just ranting........

You cannot check on the status of your wife's application, only your wife can. You are the original petitioner of the I-130 you submitted a few years ago You are NOT the petitioner now. Your wife is the one who is applying to remove conditions, and therefore she is the only one who can obtain a status update regarding her case.

still....., I think when you call the 800 number, they even say the petitioner can check the status. I know how to check the status via online and the automated phone service, but it would be nicer to talk to a real live person.

I guess I'll have to try sometime in the morning, they work the same hours as we both do.

Yes the petitioner can check the status. Your wife is the petitioner and she can check her status.
