Well, we got a checklist yesterday for our AOS package and for something that doesn't make sense. My joint sponsor put in her savings amount even though she earns enough and they are asking for proof of her savings or ours (which again, doesn't make sense as we need a joint sponsor).

I found out while at the grocery store, had a huge panic attack and i've no idea how i drove home for an hour without crashing. My daughter overheard me on the phone to her dad about it and started crying. I feel so stupid. I should have deleted the extra info knowing they'd be idiots. How can you checklist someone for something that is optional?! My husband is trying to get through to them on the phone today and he is talking with the senator who is on our case. I just hope more than anything that they will allow me to bring the "optional" evidence to the Embassy, because I cannot wait until Feb/March

They also said to wait 60 "BUSINESS" days for the checklist to be reviewed.

I'm very sorry for that  they're idiots and seriously look for ways to checklist people. Please have your husband call and speak with a supervisor to clarify the situation, don't listen to the reps. They don't know anything. I really wish and pray that it gets resolved soon.

Hi everybody. I know it's been a long time, but I just wanted to let everybody know what's going on.

I'm in Dakar right now with my husband (thank God, we hadn't seen each other in a year) and he had his interview this past Tuesday. They didn't let me come in the embassy with him for the interview - has anybody else experienced that or heard of that happening?

My husband did really, really well with all of the questions. And answered most of them in English, which I am so proud of him for doing that. I prepared a huge binder full of all the documents and evidence, but they only asked for one document - the divorce certificate from his first marriage. Since I prepared the binder, and we only briefly went over the contents (thinking that I would be with him to help him find stuff) he couldn't find it. They asked him to come back today with the document and gave him a form 221g. We went back this morning, they took the divorce certificate and told him to hang onto the 221g, our case is in AP, and they will contact him for a second interview in about 1 to 4 weeks. Not exactly the result we were hoping for.

I really wish there were more people on this website that had been to the Dakar embassy for their interview. There was one review on the country forum that said they didn't let the US citizen spouse in the embassy, but I thought it must have been a fluke. But I guess it's just a new policy. The security people outside were extremely rude and I had an overall terrible experience. My husband said that once inside the embassy everybody was really nice. I would really like to know if we can rely on their 1-4 week timeline for AP... I'm just so tired of people asking me when my husband will be coming to the US and all I can say is "I have no idea."

Oh man! :wow: I thought spouses were always welcomes at the interview but I guess that isn't the case at all embassies.

Nonetheless, do not worry, he will surely get the visa very soon. I believe they just need time to review through the document and verify it.

Thanks, Romii. It is insane. I thought we might get check listed for something stupid but not on something that is optional. My husband just told me he spoke with a supervisor last night (he was expecting a call back but they put him straight through, thankfully). He said the supervisor seemed to agree with him but then he said to put what is wrong in an email, so now we're confused. My husband wants to call back later and speak to someone else because he doesn't understand the need for an email. Is the email normal procedure with a supervisor?

Hi all just some updates about my case.. ........nothing has change hahahaha

My husband called them yesterday, he is not really into checking or anything like me and since we have a lawyer he just dont mess with forms or anything. But yesterday he called and he said and old lazy lady anwser and gave him the same bs info 60 days blah blah. So or course he got a little grumpy and told her that this is bs, blah blah blah.

So in other news, remember I told u guys I was starting my diet well well, 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Just need to loose 14 more, I know I know I ate 20lbs because of the green card. Oink oink..

On Sat one of my friends is getting married and everyone is bringing the aignificant other but me, it hurts me. I may drink and cry hahaha. I am just trying to stay strong and think positive.

Sending good energy to all of you, I know this is exhausting but we have hope one day will be over.

God bless :)

6 pounds in two weeks! :wow::wow: good job!! That's very impressive. Soon enough, you'll be attending events with your significant other, it just needs to wait a tadddd bit more. ;)

Do you mind sharing your secret diet with me? I've gained about 20 pounds too since my wedding

My job is no help, since I have an office job I sit throughout the whole day and it has caused even more of a weight gain.:cry:

I have not heard of this so called email procedure so far. I would suggest to not email yet, because they count emails as documents to be reviewed and put them in the 60 day wait period. Why don't you call the NVC director that soloenta had posted the number for, maybe calling him would do some good. She just posted it a few pages back.

Andy called today. Spoke to supervisor. No change from what they told me although apparently now our scan date is 23rd Sept. I mean who knows anymore. I am just going to sit tight and wait. Doesn't really matter which one it is we probably won't get a December interview. Have resigned ourselves to a January interview and an Ozzie Christmas.

Good to see they are September 5th though.

Congratulations to those CC's.

Oh lord! :wow::wow:

They keep making up the dates!! What are they trying to get? Buying more time? But for what?

NVC is so hopeless I swear, I wonder how they sleep at night :ranting:

I pray they stop with this stupidity and give you a case complete already. They need to get their act together seriously. :bonk:

SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT THAT - THATS WHY I SENT HUBBY THE DOCUMENT FOLDER 2 WEEK BEFORE Interview. Everyday I quiz him on where to fins what and what does it say?

When he got there, the man asked for socument, he handed over the 2 pound spiral book I made, they did not even open it. They said - okay, okay - points taken!!! Ask him 5 of the same questions I had prepared him to able to answer and that was the end of it. Hopefully they wont take that long!!

Dear Soleanta, Romii and evryone

https://www.google.com/search?q=Thank+you&biw=1366&bih=657&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=VS5SVIj1G8ueNtyIhNgG&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ

You are beyond words amazing! When I first got started Soelenta on the thread, your name was evrywhere and I was like who is that, but now I see why! You are encourage others though you are going through your own trials, your advised others though you are seeking your own answers and above all, you do it out of a sincere heart and when you need to get real, you get real. I even me and you went at it over someone cussing on the thread, which I still think I am right - no cussing should be on the thread but that is beside the point, at many stages during this process, I HONESTLY felt like I was going to crack but your words of wisdom and encouragement did wonder. I am finish with the process and now working two jobs (both which pay horrible) but together they make a living until June next year, God willing when I start teaching full time in order to finish my PHD.... CEAC has been changed to issued and I will be heading back to see my parents in law before hubby comes here ...so I will not be on here much, but I will be checking on you guys every now and then!!!!

YOU ALL - ROMIII, AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO HELP ME WHOSE PROFILE NAME I DONT REMEMBER - THANK YOU!!!

Congratulations, am so happy for you. Finally the whole long journey is over.
