It is nice here in Australia now, so I am going to soak up the lovely Spring weather and hopefully be ready to move before the all of the 40 degree Celsius/100 degree Fahrenheit days hit. I know Oly/Seattle weather is rainy, but I miss all of the GREEN!!! Can’t wait to get back to the Pacific Northwest!

40 degree Celsius / 100 degree Fahrenheit!? :wow: I don't think I've ever been to that hot place!

Probably a lot :)))) especially if you add up checking if the bill changes to n/a ... Yes I'm still doing that too don't ask me why as my OCD

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I can totally imagine how it feels to keep watching the dates go by and finally wait for ur turn and then pushed back again.

I too can imagine how it feels to be pushed back when you expect something from NVC. :dead:

IV fee invoice (14 -> 30 -> 45 days) and document review time (30 -> 45 -> 60 days) kept getting longer while I was at NVC. :bonk:

My Singapore Police Certificate was scanned in on 29th August. I emailed NVC back in early August to see if I might take the Certificate to the Interview. I didn't hear back from them and so Andy and I decided we would Fed Ex it to NVC and get the clock ticking. They emailed me back on September 17th to say that my email had insufficient information. I had left off Andy's birth date. They then wrote to me on 24th September saying they received my documents of the 17th September which was, in fact, their email to me.

Turns out my last scan date is NOT August 29th but now September 17th. They opened up my file a few days ago but didn't look at the Police Certificate because they saw that there is another piece of mail waiting to be reviewed from September 17th even though it was their own email. Really!!!!!

WHAT!? :wow: I thought they were opening two packages together based on the earlier scan date?

I heard about NVC not giving people a CC if they see unanswered emails because emails show up in their system as "packages".

I emailed NVC twice and I thought I made a mistake! :bonk:

Fortunately, they answered my emails before they reviewed my IV package so it didn't delay my case at all. :star:

I called and spoke to Olivia and got an official CC, also with a scan date of either August 29 or Sept 2 (have heard both) and also with a case complete on Saturday Oct 25. I do not think they work Saturdays, but I do think the system updates whenever it updates and that's the date that it's "complete."

So I still don't understand the scheduling interview part. Doesn't it depend on the embassy? So does NVC only call them to schedule at those times? I read the first page of the interview thread, I just think it's crazy. I guess I'm not surprised though, since this is the NVC.

msc13, Samreen and dear sweet Soloenta, all of my thoughts and positive energy are going towards you guys to be done with this BS as soon as possible.

Congratulations once again.

For the interview schedule, NVC usually contact the embassies and ask them for the available monthly slots and how many cases they can handle for a specific month. NVC schedule based on the slots given to them by the embassies.

I contacted the embassy here in Amman and my papers haven't been sent yet . How long does it usually take them? I'm doing EP .

Your paper gets shipped out after your interview date is scheduled.

:) Awww thank you so much my dear friend for thinking of us now celebrate in our name. :Dt5063.gif

I can guarantee they don't work on weekends! :( (L)

It would make me happy!

God bless you TargetNovember4, your so very kind, this helps me feel so much better.

I did call National Visa Center, Phillip Slattery, Director, 603-334-0927 early in the morning and briefly left a message with my name and phone number. At about 11:35 am I received a call and it was NVC, Supervisor Marcus was on the line with questions about my case and if I had any questions. Boy did I, I asked him who gave him my case because no one was helping me out and he said didn't you call this morning I said yes I called NVC Directory Slattery and expected him to call me. He said he was given my case so bottom line they can't go in to look for my packages blah, blah, blah, very nice guy but I sort of let him have it when he said 60 days. I said, are you aware what I've been through , can you possibly understand the trauma NVC and the whole immigration system has put my husband and I through! I proceeded to tell him everything from USCIS on and he said yes I see it in your file and I'm very sorry. He went over what I needed to send one by one and I let him know those are the packages I sent and I asked why the need for the marriage certificate from my parents and same old BS they needed to be verified as far as I'm concerned just one more hoop to jump over SOB's.

So I asked him, really 60 days do you know what that means to me? He said they were getting better and are at about 52 days and I said doesn't make me feel a whole lot better and he laughs and said I understand but better than 60/65 were they were. So Samreen, MSC and every one close call today please it just might be your day. :D I'm praying on my side it's your turn to see some peace of mind and to lighten your hearts. :)t4582.gif

Am glad someone took out their time to listen to you. Will be praying all goes well. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Oh nice coincidence!!! Well it is supposed the original one must be enough. We didn't ask for a certified copy cause the original certificate has the original stamp and the original signatures. Besides, I'm in Madrid

and my husband in San Francisco. If we had asked for a certified copy it would have delayed everything even more. They should recognize oiginals easily. We have some of them with The Hague apostille to be valid in Spain, but this is not valid in the U.S. I hesitated about sending it with the apostille but I couldn't imagine the original wasn't

enough.

I guess nothing in NVC makes sense. Don't know why its so hard to differentiate originals.

I chose to send both the original and certified copy because the original one looked too simple.

The certified copy contains more info such as my DOB, parents' info, social security number, etc. It also looks more "real". :o

So I decided to send both just in case they reject one of them.

You can contact the King County Marriage Licensing office to request a certified copy if necessary. I went there in person and they gave me a certified copy in 5 minutes. http://www.kingcounty.gov/courts/marriage/Licensecopies.aspx :star:

We sent it in the certified copy with translation and apostille. Was kind of scared of getting checklist for not sending in the original marriage certificate. Because NVC makes different rules without following their own rules.

Hi everyone,

The tears have finally stopped falling, I have spoken and screamed at my husband in frustration and have now settled down. Am drinking a Coke Zero and will regale my horrific morning.

Dropped children to school, rushed back to call NVC and hopefully hear some good news.

Spoke to an operator and finally they put me through to a Supervisor - Ike. He was OK but there is nothing he can do.

I cried on the phone - it did not good. He went really quiet for a long period and I had to ask him if he was still there. There is NOTHING they will/can do. I just have to wait until they get to September 17th scan date.

Any idea anymore where they are up to. In reality it is only a couple of weeks away but looks like we will miss the December interview and home for Christmas.

I am dreading telling the children this afternoon that they won't be back with Dad for Christmas. I am SO sad for them.

I will be around a while longer. Looks like we are 'scan buddies' samreen although I think (and will be happy) you will get yours before me although I should only be a few days behind you.

If I get a January interview I will email the Sydney Consulate and see if they can bring it forward. That is the best I can hope for at this point.

Am numb - don't know what to say.

Love to you all.

XX

OMG Msc, am so short of words. NVC can't even differentiate their own emails from the scan dates in their system???? An international organization is suppose to have the best staffs, the best computers and the best of everything. The Lord is your strength and he will surly see you thru this long process.

Hi Austin

You are exactly right. That is what happened. I sent an email. It took them six weeks to answer it and then used this as a scanned piece of mail. I have been crying all day and it is SO unlike me. I need to brush myself off and move forward. Will start counting the days again. All I want to be is out of NVC.

So much for Marcus but didn't believe him anyway. Praying you get you CC soon. :)t4582.gif

Hahaha yeah can you believe it I was in shock but didn't make any difference! No expedite possible at this point supposedly, Betsy said the same thing. How are you Romii dear? :)t4582.gif

Oh I agree it's something, might be a first hahahaha and yes it would be funny to call the SOB everyday I bet it's the only call he gets!

:ranting: they are so unfair! People have had senators call in and they've expedited their cases within days and they keep saying it isn't possible at this point. What does that even means? :bonk:

I'm good sweety, Alhumdulillah. I thought I'd feel much better after a case complete, but now the fear of AP doesn't let me sleep at night. Can't wait till all this is over for all of us, inshAllah we can all have a peaceful life then.

Yes Austin it happened to u at one stage but imagining happening this to some people at every fricking stage of this BS process. I mean not a single place we got lucky! First Uscis had that effed up backlog. 10.5 months waiting there. Then Nvc decided to go backlog exactly when we may June filers entered here. So instead of 2 months it's my 7th and msc 8th month here. Then while we started this they went from 2 weeks to 4 to 6 and now 8 weeks. And then like a cherry on top we got a checklist. I mean talk about torture. I hope nobody ever goes through what we went throu. I m sorry but msc's post just brought back all the 'lovely' memories that immigration process gave me.
