Ok Im panicking, I have received a checklist cause they say my marriage certificate is not he original.

I double, triple and four, five times checked and I sent the original certificate (from Washington state) and a photocopy.

Could this be a false checklist? I am not expert on this, but a marriage certificate is a basic on this processing

:wow: they actually call back! Soloenta, Did you ask if an expedite could be granted in your case?

Expedites don't seem to be worth the paper their are printed on. I am expedited and they are telling me 60 days to review my ds260!!

No sign of case complete yet????? 60 days period will be over tomorrow!!!!!

So much for Marcus but didn't believe him anyway. Praying you get you CC soon. :)t4582.gif

:wow: they actually call back! Soloenta, Did you ask if an expedite could be granted in your case?

Hahaha yeah can you believe it I was in shock but didn't make any difference! No expedite possible at this point supposedly, Betsy said the same thing. How are you Romii dear? :)t4582.gif

Well I know that it really means nothing, because you clearly have no reason to trust them, but I glad that at least someone called you and listened to your whole story.

Good for you calling the director!! Maybe you should call and leave him a message EVERYDAY!!!

Oh I agree it's something, might be a first hahahaha and yes it would be funny to call the SOB everyday I bet it's the only call he gets!

I would call and ask to speak to a supervisor. If they are asking for something specific like that, I would say it's not a false checklist, but certainly call them ASAP. You can't very well send them the original twice. I would have them check and make sure, because the only other option you have to is to somehow get a certified copy and send that.

Thank you,

That is what my husband is gonna do from the US. I am in Madrid and I have no option to call abroad from my mobile (and waiting for maybe hours...)

According to the checklist, the thing is the original document has to bear the original seal or stamp, but the one I sent it bears the stamp!!! But on the back side of the certificate and in black color. Maybe this has confused them. In addition, to show the document authenticity the stamp is "en relieve o grabado", I do not know the English word for this. It is a kind of serigraphy. When you touch it you feel it like done in a different level.

I am pretty sure they didn't notice about this. And of course, it is the original certificate from The King County court in Seattle, WA. We haven't got any other different....

How are you doing my friend?

My sweet sweet Soloenta, I am so devastated for you and the ridiculous lengths NVC has gone to to make your case linger. If nothing else, you would think they would calculate how much cheaper in man-hours it would be to finish your case now, rather than let it go on any longer and have to field any more calls from you!! :jest:

I hate complaining when I see you (and others) still getting jerked around by the NVC 'system' (I use the term loosely.... very loosely).

Today, Tessa flagged my file for a supervisor to look at (since I have fulfilled the conditions of my expedite and nothing is happening). I am so hoping to be reunited with my kids (and hairy-half) by Thanksgiving. But I am sure the odds are not good.

But, how I will celebrate when your case goes through!!!

'Til then, I am grateful for all the magnificent individuals like you on this thread (L)

Congratulations! Are you sure it's 10/25? 'Coz 25th is Saturday. So does it mean that NVC is now working on weekends hmmmm hope so!

Thank you! He definitely said 10/25, I asked him to say it twice lol. But I don't know if it was just delayed in their system or how all that works. It would be nice to think they're working weekends.

Thanks Solenta! I've appreciated seeing all your support over the months, for me and for everyone else.

No I didn't express correctly. It is a kind of Braille. You pass your fingers over the stamp and you can feel the text and the stamp form. It is a printing technique like bas relief (bajorrelieve)

I contacted the embassy here in Amman and my papers haven't been sent yet . How long does it usually take them? I'm doing EP .

I'm afraid NVC doesn't work as fast as your OCD.:rofl::rofl:

They'll forward your file to your embassy/consulate after they schedule your interview date.

I am pretty sure they didn't notice about this. And of course, it is the original certificate from The King County court in Seattle, WA. We haven't got any other different....

Our marriage certificate is also issued by King County in Seattle. :star:

If you got married in a courthouse, the judge gave you the original one (hand written that contains signatures of your two witnesses). :)

The Kind County office can also give you a certified copy. I sent NVC both the original one and a certified copy just in case.

Thank you so much Kanuk for your kind and thoughtful words, I think they know very well I wont call often so as they say in my country they keep stepping on my Poncho hahahaaa. It's a saying because some indigenous men get drunk and to start a fight drag their Poncho's hahahaa so when someone steps on it they can go for it. ;)
