Congrats! I'm glad to hear that your senator was helpful since most senators are kind of useless!

I think I got lucky. When I emailed my Senator's office, one of my former graduate students and advisees responded (I'm a university political science professor). She loved me and I think she made it happen.

You got lucky! :wow: Maybe she (former grad student) used her political science skills she learned from you to make it happen!

I was wondering why it's called "political science". :huh2: It's not science is it? :content:

Of course it is! :ranting: The difference we have with "hard" sciences is that we study things that can think and reflect making our job much harder than those studying carbon and gravity: neither carbon nor gravity can have a bad day and decide to act differently. :dancing:

NVC is now reviewing the AOS and IV packages (or IV package and AOS checklist) together. :dancing: They probably started this new procedure that if they scan your second package (meaning they found your first package in the system), they put your second package in a "lost and found" box. :star: When the reviewer reviews your first package, they retrieve your second package from the "lost and found" box (usually IV package or AOS checklist).

Unfortunately, it doesn't work if you have sent your checklist document after your AOS and IV packages have been reviewed since they can't find your "second" package when they scan your checklist document. In that case, you'll end up waiting for up to 60 days.

Yeah, I think what you're saying makes sense. It might explain what we've been seeing. But unfortunately all this will due is push my 60 day checklist review further out and likely close to 60 days than sooner :(

I just got off the phone with the NVC and the Panamanian embassy approved the expedite request from my Senator (Manchin)! Woohoo!

I'm sure someone will ask on what grounds was my expedite request. I can honestly say that I don't know--I didn't even ask my Senator to push for an expedited case. I just asked his office to get a Supervisor to review my AOS packet (I was checklisted on I864EZ--they said I put the wrong number but I have a photocopy and I did NOT put the wrong number.)

Congratulations. Am glad your Senator was of a great help to you. :dancing::dancing::dancing:

If you have a checklist document alone (your AOS and IV packages have been already reviewed), it won't benefit you. :crying:

It may end up costing you more time since NVC is spending more time reviewing two packages together for other people.

That's true! I remember reading some posts on the Interview thread that they were really happy that they got their interview dates. But, the next day... they started to worry about the interview, and moving to a new country, and settling there.

Well, my interview is on Nov 10th. I'm not nervous at all. Should I be nervous?:rofl::rofl:

 not everyone worries. I have a friend who is freaking out because she can't find an apartment. Another one of my friends lost her job a month before hubby was due to come. Life always has it's ups and down, so no one event should define how you choose to live.

Congrats! Medical exam? :wow:

You may want to read the Interview thread for more info about the medical exam.

There were very "interesting" postings about the medical exam in the last 2 days. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/516586-november-2014-interviews/

Thanks for the link Austin, I was going to complete my medical sooner but was afraid with how long NVC were taking. I wanted them to be as recent as possible.

There's 101 pages on that thread, it's going to take me a while to sift through them haha

I think I'm going to just read the last 10 or so pages. lol :)

Oh you are so welcome my dear, wow I was reading other threads and I see there are still some people with April, may and June pds still stuck at nvc. I feel so sick of this #### nvc put you guys through. This process has turned me into bi-polar ######, I hope when I get to the states my mood will change back to the happy go lucky woman.

Yes it's very sad what they have done to some people, it's cruel and unusual punishment. :(

Oh I"m sure once your home with your loved ones all this will fade into the background. God willing we can all forget and move on with our lives. t4582.gif

First...congratulations to all the CC people...I am not one of you as of yet . Just wanted to say that I have spoken with NVC operators several times over the past months and this was my first experience with this one . Can you guess who I spoke with ? I have to laugh about this interaction with her because it was just so strange zzzzzz .First she answers the phone coughing and sputtering and sounding like she is half asleep. She asked for the case number etc and then asked my name which I told her. She proceeds to tell me that there is no one named that as the Petitioner. I repeated my name to her again just in case she got it wrong the first time through her sputtering and she barked at me..."I would not have asked if I NEEDED it  OKKKKKKKKKKK woman ..chill your jets.

Then she says once again ...what is your name! I repeated my name for the 3rd or 4th time. By the way folks ...I have a normal American name nothing complicated. I had to look at my paper to make sure I knew who I was by this point :help: She then says to me all exasperated..I heard your name. Next she says ...I need your phone number it is ...and proceeds to recite it to me .Now mind you..I didn't know if that was a question or statement..insert deer in the head lights look here...I don't call myself on my foreign cell phone or house phone and I was caught off guard and just said ...yes lol. Finally she says what is it you called for in her sleepy irritated drawel ? Trying to maintain my sweetness ...I told her I called for a case status update and she says to me...due to the high volume of petitions ...please allow 60 days yada yada lol. She reads me the speel right off her computer screen slower than molasses...like I was too dumb to understand . So when she was finished I said to her...sooooooo has my case been reviewed ?Sleepily she replies...let me look.........................................................................................................................no

I have to admit that I though some of you were exaggerating about this sleepy...NVC woman. I am not sure if she new what she was talking about but it was a fun ride through the twilight zone.

Ummm was it Joyless? Arthur is a load of fun also :D

Does anyone see a pattern at all at the NVC? I'm seeing open cases from original documents scanned in August, random CC from September, and checklists not reviewed from August while seeing a few checklists from September and even October with CC. I don't see a pattern at all. Seems like a jumbled mess.

Our AOS and IV was mailed together with a scan date of July 15, and we have a AOS checklist scan date of September 23. I have no idea what to expect. We told ourselves to just expect the 60 day wait until Nov 23, but now who knows. It's encouraging it could be sooner for the checklist but also frustrating and stressful it feels so random.

I agree it's all over the place, I hope and pray things will move along quickly. Please let's all pray this ends soon for those of us being left behind. Thank you in advance.

Recently, my job title has changed at work and salary has increased. I have already a case complete. What should be done in this case, in regards to AOS? I am thinking maybe when my wife goes for her interview, she can take a new AOS with change in title and change in salary with her and present it their with copies of old AOS?

If you have been through this situation or know anyone else, then please let me know what should be done. Thank you.

I hope someone can help you out soon but I think it's best your wife has very thing you can think of just in case. Plus if your over the poverty level, I wonder if it would really matter at this point?

Congrats! Medical exam? :wow:

You may want to read the Interview thread for more info about the medical exam.

There were very "interesting" postings about the medical exam in the last 2 days. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/516586-november-2014-interviews/

You are walking on thin ice, my good sir :protest:

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
