Well i got a case complete today. my last scan date was 8/22/14. i submitted an aos on 8/8/14 with my old A number, i realized this and resubmitted a new aos and iv documents on 8/18/14. the iv documents had the aos cover sheet with just ATTN DR. i submitted I 864 instead of I 864EZ and left everything that did not apply to me blank.

And that's the most selfish and stupid thing ever. Ppl have been complaining for months that how slow nvc has gotten and if they had taken a step to improve system people started complaining. I'm one of the few unfortunate ones who have been stuck in this process since June 2013 and it makes my blood boil to see people who started April May of this year and are whining and complaining. Well they should be happy then nvc listened to them and went back to their snail pace.

It amazes me how selfish and petty people can be. If I were an NVC rep and someone called to complain that people after them were having their cases completed before them, I would tell them to take their tantrum elsewhere. I'm hoping NVC isn't phased by their whining -- if they are professional, it shouldn't change a thing.

Next week is your week, Samreen... or even tonight! Who knows

NVC received our case on 10/7 but weren't able to tell me that until today 10/17 over the phone. It took 18 days from NOA2. Based on some time lines it takes about 3 weeks to receive and 1 week to assign a case number. I hope this means we'll get a case number soon! God willing

On a side note, i'm finally seeing why people call everyday and more than once a day. It's insane how the answers from different reps can vary. I wonder, aren't they looking at the same database? Maybe some have more experience than others? Maybe it has to do with the way we phrase the questions? First time I called i said "i'm checking to see if my case has been received" The rep took tons of info and then said, no you have to wait 30 days after NOA2 before calling, and actually call USCIS first to find out if they mailed it. Second time i called i said "I'm calling to check if our case # has been assigned" (at this point i didn't even know if they had/hadn't received the case, the rep said "well we just received it on 10/7 so it should be about 45 days before you get the number" hahahaha.

Anywho, just 'ranting' i suppose.

I know! LOL. . . had never been so happy to see $325 available on the screen! LOL . . . on the bright side, it now shows PAID and the DS-260 is available to fill out which I plan to do tonight with my husband!

I don't have a lawyer myself but I wouldn't even worry about them. As far as I understand they work for you. If they are going to find out if you logged on then they should be able to do a lot more for you than it sounds like they are currently doing. Its your case. Just my two cents.

Not sure if that was the question, but from what I see, you need your INN right?! So, you may find on the emails NVC sent to you (welcome letter, Case number, invoice fee, etc).

I appreciate the suggestions! Unfortunately I didn't call nvc until after all fees were paid and added my email address at that point. So I've only received the sixty day and checklist correspondence. No IIN on those, so sounds like I'll have to call if I want it.

There is no way your lawyer can tell if you logged in and I don't think they would tell him but not sure. But why would you care you paid the lazy SOB and the lawyer is paid to do his job and part of that is respond to e-mails or call and keep you informed and he has not. It's your right to log on, he's not paying you. Screw your lawyer!

By the way the SOB's did scan my package today. My parents marriage certificate is very old and it's not translated it's in Castellano/Spanish so I hope the fools accept it since they have a ton of people there that speak the language.

Nvc just worked on September one day I think

If they are on Sept 1 and my package was scanned in their system today I'm wondering if that will make a difference in how long it will take them to review my stuff? Wondering if sending DR makes it less than 60 days also, I kind of remember someone posting that DR are reviewed quicker but just might be dreaming.

Why not, you will be on the other side of the USA but that's why we have e-mails. Silvia the supervisor told your husband it would take a week to check your files or get your files and that you would have CC in a week? If so I pray she is right. No worries here I'll keep praying.

I don't mean to scare you, but according to http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/submit/documents-to-submit-to-nvc.html, it states the below:

All documents not written in English, or in the official language of the country in which application for a visa is being made, must be accompanied by certified translations and submitted to the NVC.

Since your embassy/consulate is in Egypt, no translation is required as long as it's in English or Arabic (but not in Spanish) since it'll be sent to the embassy/consulate in Egypt.

Maybe you asked Betsy (supervisor) and she said it was okay to send it as is.
