This's is so awful Soloenta. I can't even imagine what you're going through.

I know it frustrating but you need to DEMAND a clear list of all of the "missing" info for your case so you don't have a bunch of separate packages being scanned in. And ask someone to explain why it took 4 MONTHS for you to learn that you needed more information about the AOS package?? I am so upset for you. Sending a HUGE hug ands lots of supportive energy!!!

thanks….thats all I can do….WAIT!! due to my attorney's negligence...

when you fired your attorney…what all changes did you make? Also how much time did that take? Do you just update your information somewhere or do you have to go through NVC again?

and thanks…i am going to need all the good luck now

Wow...I am so sorry to hear this. Checklists at the NVC stage are like daggers to the heart. When our attorney screwed up our AOS and caused a checklist I immediately fired his butt and sent the correct AOS in myself. My trust was lost on this "immigration attorney."

Hang in there though. 60 days will happen quicker than you think. Good luck!

I really don't understand what they are getting from torturing u soloenta. Now u just have to insist on talking to a supervisor and demand that why it took so long for u to find out. Tell them u got a false checklist. And tell them if they need a correction then let u bring to interview! And don't take no for an answer!! They can't treat u like this!

All I did was inform my attorney that he is "fired" and to take no further action going forward. I did not notify the NVC as I did not want to report a change or removal of attorney and delay the process even further. So the attorney's email is still on my file, but so is my name (as petitioner) and my wife's (as beneficiary), so we will get all correspondence and be able to respond. When I spoke to NVC about the AOS checklist they very clearly indicated that I could send the corrected AOS on my own and It did not have to come from the attorney. That's exactly what we did.

I was very lucky to get Betsy she is a compassionate supervisor and told me not to send anything until she gets back to me so this wont happen again. I spoke to Candy just now, who was very sweet and helpful said Betsy requested my file but it takes two days so to call on Friday, which or course I will do.

They can't tell me anything about the AOS they have no idea why this happened, I told Betsy thatt they told me Aug 10 our AOS were accepted and Sept 24 Th we had CC. She didn't know what to say but, "OMG I'm sorry" good that did me they wont even expedite our case due to these lies. When I talk to her God willing Friday I will ask her if she can ask her supervisor due to the circumstances of all the blatant lies if my case can be rushed. I know they wont but will be worth a try. :(

Thank you my friend. (L) (L)

yes, i realized that whether you have a lawyer or not, I NEEDED to be on top of my case. I know i know, when you pay someone money its their job…but i should have known better….oh well. cannot take that back.

Well he sent it again yesterday, this time to the correct address… LOL…. i asked him to send me the email he sent with the AOS form. I want to make sure he didn't mess up for the third time.

Thanks Austin, I need all the prayers i can get. Dec 10 --- well if Oct 7 is the confirmation date (haven't received the email confirmation yet) then Dec 7, so its going to be pretty close…. though NVC is processing a good amount of cases about a week before….so who know…..its all up to the God and Universe.

For those of us going through stress meaning still at NVC this is for us. I know I had a nervous breakdown when talking to poor Betsy and I want everyone to know the

warning signs. This is NOT an easy thing for me to admit, I'm usually a very strong person one people come to when things are bad, never thought in a million years this was possible. :(

5 Nervous Breakdown.
  1. crying easily, and seemingly endlessly, at the drop of a hat - whether you're male or female! No need to be embarrassed.
  2. feeling guilty for all kinds of reasons: 'not pulling your weight', not being there for someone else, not being your 'normal' self, etc
  3. feeling alone - you're embarrassed and don't want to bother with anyone. You don't even recognize yourself.
  4. feeling joyless - increasingly withdrawing from all the things you would normally enjoy - no wonder with all those symptoms!
  5. being/feeling 'paranoid' - feeling that people are out to get you and single you out for every scrap of negativity.

It is not surprising that often a nervous or mental breakdown goes hand-in-hand with depression.

Therefore I'm going to be straight with you: you're not going to get better by staying in bed, miserable and worried!

A nervous breakdown really means the point of exhaustion reached after a prolonged period of anxiety. The overwhelming anxiety, depression, and stress leads to a sense of overwhelm, helplessness, and utter exhaustion; a feeling of not being able to deal with life. depressed.gif

So if anyone feels this way, I think this thread helps lot also it says to do thing with family and friends if possible.

A nervous breakdown really means the point of exhaustion reached after a prolonged period of anxiety (perhaps related to relationship, financial, health, or work worries; often a combination). I have four of the five, so far not #2, so if you feel any of these they say you need to take action to relive these feelings. One says to get out of the house which is a great idea if you can do that. Walk on the grass barefoot sounds a little ridiculous to me but if it works why not. :)You don't have to have all of these symptoms to have or be close to a nervous breakdown. It's a horrible feeling I pray I never have again.

I posted this on the other NVC October 2014 thread, but I guess this is more of a rant so it should go here!

I was approved September 20th. I know it hasn't been long, but I tried to call NVC yesterday - redialed about 60 times to get through, waited on hold 30 minutes, then my cellphone dropped the call. I gave up. Today I tried and got through the first time, waited on hold about 20 minutes, and they told me they haven't received it yet, to allow 5 weeks.

I recalled seeing a post once upon a time, suggesting calling USCIS, speaking to a supervisor, and getting the date the package was physically shipped to NVC. I tried that, the first USCIS agent I talked to told me to allow 90 days for NVC to receive my case. Then I waited about an hour an a half to talk to a supervisor, who told me to wait 30 days. The supervisor was pretty rude, he basically said not to bother calling USCIS again unless NVC hasn't received anything after the 30 days.

So is it 5 weeks, 90 days, or 30 days? I'm just going to try calling NVC once a week until I hear something.

I'm so sorry USCIS is the worst I would say 30 days is most likely the most realistic but I would keep calling NVC a land line would be better than a cell is you have one. Some people use Skype or other services. I don't trust cells for calls this important. It has been taking a lot of time for everything but this part is short then what is to come. I would call NVC on Wednesday and Friday every week. You just never know when it will arrive then NVC scan it into their system. Please keep us posted. :) I'll be saying a prayer so your journey will be an easy and quick one. :) Also graphics-welcome-010883.gif To the thread.

I'm coming back here everyday to get an update on your case Soloenta and it seems to get more and more insane as time goes on. Like how can NVC be in such a tizz over it, giving all sorts of different and conflicting info about your AOS when really it's black and white: either it's correct or isn't. How can they have different interpretations of its status? Even going so far as to say you had CC when you didn't. Truly baffling :(

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.
