Thanks Austin.

Have made a good deal with them. I have committed to end January. Once I know my interview date I will tell them. They will then advertise it and if they get a tenant between us vacating and end of January then I don't have to pay all the rent. Good thing is it is in a very desirable neighbourhood so should go quickly. I decided when I woke up this morning after a bad sleep that I am not going to put myself in any situation that is going to cause any stress.

That's settled then. We're gonna fly you in to Denver to negotiate for us our vehicles and furniture.

MoBar you haven't had any updates yet? Did that CO ask for something else?

Nothing yet... not even a ceac status update acknowledging receipt of the document they requested. I'll email them next week for a status update and attach the document again. Before the CO left his desk to bring me my 221(g) letter, he did let slip that he needs to get my letters (in the plural) and be back shortly. So I'm gessing he fired up a background check on me (true AP). As if being constantly on one US visa or another since 1989 with never an incident, going successfully through two lengthy APs in the past, travelling to 3 or 4 conferences there every year with no overstays, and even being a TSA-Pre for two years now is not enough to vouch for my character. But.... whatever!

Thanks for asking dear friend.

Guys we should start a diet club or something. I'm getting obese! I've literally gained like 20 pounds since my wedding, due to all this stress!

Gaining 20 pounds!? :wow: I gained 5-10 pounds, but not because of the stress... I was eating too much food and not exercising enough!

Fortunately, the condo we're renting now has a gym and swimming pool in the building so I'm using them everyday. I think I've lost about 5 pounds in the last 2 months!

Wait...! I haven't stepped on the scale so I'm not 100% sure if I really lost any weight. There is a chance that I haven't lost any weight or maybe gained some? :bonk: I'm so afraid of stepping on the scale! :dead:

The last time I stepped on the scale, I was almost 190 lbs (I'm almost 6 feet... and I thought I was around 175 lbs). I almost passed out when I saw the number on the scale!

Ooh sounds good. I am a good businesswoman and negotiator!! If only I could deal on a level playing field with NVC but that is just too much to ask.

Am going away with three other families for the long weekend here so at least I can have a little respite. The children are coming with me, of course. Just missing my husband.

Austin did u get an interview date?

Well, I'm still waiting. -_- I heard some people (folks from the Philippines, Nigeria, Romania, South Korea, Dominican Republic, etc.) got their interview dates today.

But, I'm not complaining! :star: I can wait more since other people (like Samreen, Soloenta, etc.) have been waiting longer than I have.

I feel so blessed and just grateful that I got a CC (instead of a checklist)!

I am so distressed for you about this. You just seem one of the nicest most positive people, clearly a professional and as you say with an impeccable record. What on earth is wrong with these people. I feel that this process has changed us and I sincerely hope that when it is all over that we can get back to some normalcy in our family lives. I have already said that once it is done I am not going to discuss it all the time and get bitter. There are many folk in a worse situation than I. Still, it doesn't stop me wanting it to all be over.

Have a lovely weekend my friend. We are heading away for the long weekend with three other families so will have a relaxing time.

Hi Austin

I don't want to wish you a Happy Immiversary because you shouldn't be here still. I will acknowledge it though and all the pain that I am sure it brings with you. I remember ours on September 20th and I was just numb thinking how unbelievable that it has been a year. Still, you aren't far away my friend.

My dear lady,

One way or another we all will have our way to provide the best environment for our kids' upbringing and future. Until that happens, I'm at least living with my family and still command a very comfortable income level while we wait. What really distresses me is the state of affairs at the US agencies. If they cannot figure out whether I'm friend or foe with all this 25 years worth of extensive data on me, how could they hope to filter out malicious and nasty characters with any measure of confidence?

Anyway... put all this behind you for now and do your best to enjoy the next few days with the kids. Soon enough, I'm afraid, they'd rather die than be seen with us parents in public. :(

I agree entirely.

However, on the child front I am really lucky. My son, 15, who is six foot two and scheduled to be six foot seven will still kiss me goodbye in front of friends. Both kids think I am cool - well they say that although they do say I am old!! In my experience it is walking the line between being very approachable and non judgmental and also knowing when to back off. I am also quite strict, tough love. To me it is all about them making the right choices. I am so lucky with our son. As an elite swimmer, he is focussed and goal oriented. He will go to a party a couple of times a year but wants to leave by ten to get some sleep before training. Having said that he has lots of friends, is definitely one of the boys and loves that play station. He wants to swim at College and then go to Medical a School. He is very bright and on an academic scholarship at school. We will see what the future brings. He loves to hang with Dad as well fishing and skiing. Well enough rambling.
