Interview scheduled! November 21st. The Friday before Thanksgiving week isn't exactly the stuff dreams are made of, but I suppose I should be thankful we finally have an interview date.

Back from my medical today at Center for Migration Medicine, Hyderabad. I had taken the shots from my primary physician and instead of tdap I had taken dtap. Because of that one mistake, the doctor ruled that the record of rest of the shots was inadmissible. I freaked out and asked what would happen at the interview. I was afraid I would be put under AP until I get the record of obtaining the correct shot. The doctor told me it won't be an issue at the interview, but would create a hassle at the POE. Because of the incorrect shot, I can't take the correct shot until November 10, which is 28 days later; my interview is on November 7. I am going back after interview to get all eligible shots ( oh no!!!).

Why cant you take the correct shot until November 10th?

Lol I just had another freak-out because I thought my nurse forgot to consider pertussis when exempting me from my vaccines. The last ones I had were T/d/IPV (tetanus, diphtheria and polio). Turns out that if you've had pertussis at least one in your life (as I did when I was a small screaming child), you don't need a full Tdap but can just get a Td booster instead.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

 

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

 

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

I found the tdap/dtap stuff confusing. :wacko:

I had to read the fine print 2-3 times in order to find out the right vaccination shot I was supposed to take. :unsure:

You mean you're not supposed to have tdap for at least 28 days once you've had dtap? :huh2:

Yes, I can't be given tdap for 28 days after I've had dtap. It is a mess and because of the wrong vaccine the correct one can't be given. For tdap, it will be written as incomplete. Hopefully, it will not be an issue at the interview with the CO putting me in AP until I get it administered and provide the record. Panel physician told me he would give all the requisite vaccines again. It will just be influenza and tdap. I just need tdap, having already taken the influenza shot, but he doesn't want to consider it because of "improper" and "suspicious" record of vaccines taken in a hurry just before medical. I should have asked him to do an antibody titer for flu shot.

2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?

I had my medical today. Thankfully I was exempt from every vaccine except for influenza, so I had that and it barely felt like anything. I win the strongest arm contest :D

I didn't like the whole nakedness part at all so I'm glad this medical was a one-off.

Yes, the medical and the X-ray made me very uncomfortable. For X-ray, they had given gown but asked to not wear anything under the gown and go hug that scanner.

Greetings all, my wife's visa was approved at her interview on October 9th! We are thrilled and still in disbelief that this endless process is actually coming to an end. :dancing::rolleyes: Sorry for the delay in posting, we've been running around packing and going crazy for the last couple weeks...getting ready to go back home to USA in November!

The interview at the Malaysia Embassy was pretty straightforward for her...maybe because we walked in with four albums of materials, including our wedding photo album, all of our trips/photos together for the last four years, bank statements, boarding passes, hotel reservations, tax returns, etc., etc. In the end, he only asked her a few questions, and after about 7 minutes, told her she was approved! She actually asked him if he wanted to see some of our photo albums, and he said that it wouldn't be necessary. After all the time we took putting it together, she wanted to show our photo story to the US Embassy lol!

We'll put up a Malaysia embassy review when we get a chance...

Best of luck to you all - keep the faith, eventually we will get to where we are all trying to go! Thanks so much to Visa Journey admin and members for keeping this community together for all of us to support each other throughout the process...it really helped us as we were going through this endless frustrating process!

My husband had his medical yesterday in Abu Dhabi. I would consider this hospital my personal hell. For anyone reading this and going through Abu Dhabi, I wish you luck and advise you to wear your patient pants if you go to Nmc for your medical.

I think it used to be a pre doma thing. Having read the london medical thread, one guy asked if them if they ever got any surprises and the Dr said yes, three this year, lol. So when she looked I said, look, no #######... It is very invasive though, not nice.

The more I read about it, the more I am freaking out. I am bracing for a denial at the interview for incomplete vaccinations!!!

You'll be fine, they'll only deny for medical reasons if you are class A which is a drug user or someone with one or more DUIs and continues to drink heavily. Even then, with the drink, they give you a 3-6 month period to prove you can be dry. You won't even be class B, needing further treatment stateside. You'll be no class like me, or classless as I like to think of it ;)
