Hi all!

I'm glad that I'm now part of this thread which is another milestone for all of us.

My case was completed last October 15. Guys, do we have to call NVC to ask for our interview date or we will just have to wait for their email?

Congratulations and welcome to the group.

People call during the scheduling time (they just finished November) otherwise the interview email is now coming out a 5 days to a week later

My medical is on Tuesday and I'm kinda worried. It's at 8:30am in a city 3 hours away from me, so I'm heading down tomorrow and staying the night. I got my flu shot on Friday, which killed my arm, and I got blood taken out to see if I'm immune to chicken pox. My mom said I had it but I don't remember being itchy so I just want to be safe! My doctor said my MMR shot should be still good also. I dunno. It's just scary I guess. Can you fail a medical?

My wife has completed the Medical Appointment.

We have registered on this site: https://ais.usvisa-info.com/ (Colombia/Engish)

* We have we have confirmed the Consular Appointment online (interview; date and time).

* We have registered courier branch name and address.

I can not make her ASC/Applicant Service Center appointment for some reason.

Does a CR1 require her to go to the Applicant Service Center (ASC) to get her biometrics completed before her interview? Or is that conducted at the Embassy? Or is that conducted when she arrives in the US?

Does anyone know?

Is tat what it says on your embassy website? You might what to search around your country portal. But I am sure your embassy webpage has the specifics. I sure never heard of but for Pakistan and India with special biometrics appointments outside of the embassy.

That's like the third report I've seen of the flu jab killing arms. I'm supposed to be going straight back to work after my medical >.<

The ways you can fail the medical are if you disclose narcotics use/test positive for narcotics, refuse necessary vaccines, refuse the x-ray, have syphilis and/or tuberculosis or are determined to be mentally unsound (plus others I forgot to mention). Even then it wouldn't stop the visa process, the consular officer who interviews you will have your medical records and make his/her determination based on the doctor's report and US law.

Essentially, as long as you're not infected with something serious (though HIV/AIDS is now okay) and as long as you're not a drug addict or liable to murder people/yourself, you will breeze through it.

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

September 26th 2016: I-751 package sent to CSC

September 28th 2016: Package delivered
September 30th 2016: Check cashed
October 3rd 2016: NOA1 received with receipt date of 09/28/16
November 3rd 2016: Biometrics received with appointment date of 11/14/16.
November 14th 2016: Attended biometrics appointment
October 30th 2017: Infopass appointment to get I-551 stamp
February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

So you had all these test before your medical? Just bring all your proof.

And yes people fail medicals for many reasons.

I took my medical exam today. :star: I was at the doctor's office for over 2 hours! :wow:

My left arm hurts since I got two shots (flu vaccine and blood test). :bonk:

I'm going back to the doctor's office tomorrow to pick up my medical results.

My medical examination was on last Sat and was there for more than 3 hours...

Got 4 shots plus 1 shot for blood test, TOTAL 5. Now my both arms hurt like hell !!

I wish I knew my medical exam results. <_<

I mean if I had failed the medical exam, I wouldn't waste my time and money flying for 3 hours to go to a different city for the interview. :dead:

Fingers crossed that I passed the medical exam!

This is so awesome I have tears. Congratulations.

Thanks dhweels. Kids were so excited they wanted to skip school the following day (their last day of school before POE day). Not on my watch!

They cheered up a bit when I told them we'll go early to donate lots of books to their homerooms and the school library. Afterwards, I sent them up to do their homework.

Funny thing is... my eldest (Grade 8) has some work ethic issues. He insisted on studying for a couple of exams scheduled a day after POE !!!

Yeaaah, I went to work after my flu shot and it sucked. I felt like I couldn't use my arm at all because it felt weak and sore :s Good news is that I don't have TB because I did a skin test back in 2012 so I'm pretty sure I haven't caught it, and I can't have syphilis because reasons. Monogamy. I'm fairly certain I'm not going to murder anyone or myself, and I definitely do not use drugs! Hooraaay!~

I just hope I can say I had chicken pox because my mom said I did, but I'm scared if they test my blood for it too and then realize I never had it. I worry so much x__x

Anywhoozles, the flu shot...yeah it hurt for a day but the good news is is that I didn't get sick from it. So who knows, maybe you'll get lucky and not feel anything!

A verbal declaration that you had chickenpox is enough for school or immigration purposes. Panel physicians and schools have no right to dismiss it, according to CDC vaccination guidelines.

I still have a headache from the flu shot the doctor gave me 3 days ago! :bonk:

Since pharmaceutical companies are powerful and brainwash us through advertisements, the flu shot takes every single credit.

If you didn't catch the flu, people think "It's because of the flu shot I had!"

If you caught the flu, people think "I'm glad I had a flu shot because it could have been so much worse without one."

Maybe I should sue the pharmaceutical company if I end up catching the flu since I had a flu shot.:rofl::rofl:

Better than me, I don't even get to touch my medical results until I get my visa package. The doctors send it straight to the embassy :P luckily it's not three hours away though.

Same here... Medical and x-ray results will be sent directly to Embassy in Singapore
