November 2014 Interviews

Now come on now none of that. :sleepy: Remember I mentioned the PD (Receive date at USCIS) has alot to do with date you get.

When you have a boatload of folk with different CC's all in the queue for upcoming interviews PD's come in to play. Go look at all the folk for November for your embassy(people please do not compare your embassy to another its not the same) and look at their NOA1 days on their timeline.

Seems only fair someone who has been waiting almost 1/2 to 2 years getting a interview date before someone filing after them.

Also everyone needs to take account that NVC is not knowing that almost everyone wants a earlier date. Who knows maybe the embassy is saying hold on to those petitions so people wonlt call. Its the embassy that request when things get shipped to them. And well think of the case-files they already got there (remember visitor visa, business, and K1's and others we don;t even know about).

I know like Lagos Embassy conducts 400 to 500 visitor visa interviews per day. Imagine that. They have 4 to 5 IR1/CR1 and K1's Mon-Thursday. Now Nigeria has two embassies but only Lagos does IR1/CR1 and K1. So imagine their case load.

All you can do is wait and hope for the best. I have seen petitions sent out a week before interview. Be patient and at least you have a date. :goofy:

Can you please point to concrete evidence that shows PD plays any part in interview date selection for the UK?

The spreadsheet doesn't have a column for PD, but based on indirect searches it doesn't look to me like that's the case at all. If you have evidence, please point it out. My PD is 9/9/2013 and I'm pretty sure most of the people who have just been scheduled in London 1-2 weeks ahead of my wife have PD and CC dates after ours.

I'm sorry if this comes across as whining on my part. The purpose of my post was to share information with other November people waiting for their cases to be shipped to the embassy, and London in particular. The rest is part fun and part whining and I'm happy to leave it out in the future if it doesn't belong on this thread.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

No I can't point you to any evidence but my 4 years doing this thread and seeing how people are slotted sorry I don;t have an exact science decoder ring. It's only based what I have seeen.

Even with this months assignments give or take a few days your PD's are pretty close so its not that varying really. I mean they have a 30 day window. I know when I got mine at Lagos I was 1 whole day ahead of my friend who had a PD 1 year before mind. I would hardly call that out the scope.

Sorry if I mislead you. You can say whatever you want it makes no nevermind to me .

I thought the embassies and consulates send their availabilities to NVC which then does the actual scheduling.

The embassies send to NVC the slots available for that month and its NVC who plugs in the cases. They continue until they either run out of slots or they run out of cases to fill the slots.

Some embassies (few) have scheduling everyday (like Iceland) they get case complete and interview date same day. Because they are less busy. Some embassies just keep it rollin. That's why now and then you see someone say they got a date, days or weeks after another person for another embassy was told scheduling is over.

You thought correctly. ;) It seems like once London sends NVC their available interview slots, it's out of their hands as to who receives those dates. We had luck pointing out the inconsistencies of the process after they refused to accommodate us trying to help a friend by switching dates with them (they needed a later one, and we didn't mind an earlier one). It took a little more pushing from our end on the embassy after they received the case, and hubs did the medical, but we were able to get a more "normal" timeline from CC to interview than what we originally had. bdrew got the worst of it with their interview date (and their CC was before mine and another UK filer), but I'm glad they were able to adjust their date to an earlier one as well!

But, I noticed that the interview dates for Canadians were pretty much based on the CC date and PD.

It's so weird. Maybe they have one person who handles all Canada cases and likes to schedule by PD/CC and who also generally ticks the box for "give these people a hard time about domicile" and then there's another person who schedules for the UK who has a messy desk and schedules in random order and generally doesn't check the domicile box.

This process is so random.

Thanks dwheels! BTW, I didn't mean to put you on the spot specifically about the scheduling order for the UK. I've kept track of the spreadsheet for the UK only since July this year and haven't noticed any particular order. If anything, for the UK, it looks like the very earliest CCs often get the latest interview dates, followed by middle to earlier dates and then back to late November for the last few CCs.

NVC doesn't always make sense but it's good to know that over the last 4 years, they mostly try and do the right thing!

I'm actually not that bothered having an interview 2-3 weeks after someone who had CC 2-3 weeks later or even PD 2-3 months after us. And trust me, I know there are plenty who are worse off and I'm happy to even have a case complete and an interview date!

I've been getting a little impatient waiting for "READY" to appear on CEAC. It's taking so long I think we might forget about requesting an earlier interview date from London and just plan our lives around the date we have.

Your work on the spreadsheet and wisdom and help on the thread is completely appreciated and not taken for granted! Thank you! :)

Yeah I've been following you guys' journeys through the NVC and interview threads. It's been really helpful! We were planning to request an earlier interview date from London, but because it's taken NVC so long to schedule an interview and since they haven't shipped our case yet, I think we might just plan our lives around the date we have.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

That's what we did too. We got our tix based on our original date, tried for an earlier date, failed the first time and succeeded the 2nd time. We still had the original POE we planned, but we had a little more breathing room after getting the earlier date. Worst they can say is no since you already have a date. Do what you're comfortable with and start preparing your docs for the interview! :)
