Interview scheduled! November 21st. The Friday before Thanksgiving week isn't exactly the stuff dreams are made of, but I suppose I should be thankful we finally have an interview date.

I know after all those months of waiting, NVC and interview has been quick. Taking 17 months to reach NVC has been the hardest part. How did your interview go?

It was 90 minutes of a wizards' dwell between me and the CO. Half-way through He fired at me an Avada Kedavra curse (denial) which required all my wit and skill to avoid. He got me at the end with a freezing charm (AP). Still waiting for him to lift it.

21-MAR-2014 I-140 + PP sent to USCIS

31-MAR-2014 Petition approved

16-APR-2014 Case shipped to NVC

29-APR-2014 Case received by NVC

23-MAY-2014 Case # assigned

4-JUN-2014 IV Bill invoiced and PAID (AOS Exempt, DS-261 Waived)

Mumbai consulate has also joined the party!! We got the interview scheduled for November 26th.

Although I am relieved on getting a date, not feeling very happy since it is pretty much the farthest date possible. It is also not a convenient week for my wife to travel to Mumbai.

Our case was first completed on 9/10 ..so barely missed the October interview dates scheduling. Then we got a second case complete on 9/25 - This is after NVC reviewed a mysterious 3rd package (Not the AOS or IV packet we sent). Not sure if all this played into us getting a farther interview date but I guess so.

Another confusing thing is November 26th is the last Wednesday in November.. Mumbai consulate website states, they are closed for consular services on the second and last Wednesdays of the month. So i am not sure how they managed to get Nov 26th date scheduled.

BTW, anyone with recent experience with rescheduling Mumbai counsulate interview? How do you go about doing it? Are we expected to register with http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ and reschedule via this website??

I tried everything to reschedule it. In India, irrespective of Delhi or Mumbai Consulate, Bluntly refused that they ever reschedule to an earlier.

When I contacted Mumbai consulate. They refused to reschedule to an earlier date, but were thinking they were kind to be by offering to postpone my interview date!! Lol

In short, Mumbai Consulate have stopped rescheduling to any earlier date, as it is a very busy consulate covering entire west and south India!

Congrats sweetie. Am so happy we are finally off NVC hell hole. l pray my friends that are still stuck in NVC will get thru ASAP.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.

Dwheels mentioned that NVC considers PD as one of the factors when it comes to scheduling an interview date. :idea:

Since your PD is March, 2013, you deserve to have Nov 7th as your interview date! :yes: Congrats! :dance:

What a consolation Austin. Mumbai Consulate be like, "You've waited since March 2013? Here, have an earlier interview date." When I first filled out my VJ timeline, when I came to marriage section, it stated (if applicable), I thought I'd be long done with my journey and my marriage date wouldn't come into play. But now, two months after interview, I have my second wedding anniversary (thanks to this process). Husband will be here for interview and stay for a month max. I will be immigrating with him in late November/early December. I will miss the IR-1 status/10-year green card by not waiting a month or two.

Lol, you are reading too much Harry Potter. Why do you get put in AP, is it because of the country? I think there should be a limit on how many times they put you in AP. Once or twice is understandable, but thrice?!

Lol, you are reading too much Harry Potter. Why do you get put in AP, is it because of the country? I think there should be a limit on how many times they put you in AP. Once or twice is understandable, but thrice?!

I need to read these works to keep up with my 8-13 year old kids. Next on my to-do list is learn how to play Minecraft. :wow:

CO requested a document which I submitted the following day. Other than that, they never tell you the reason for AP or how long it would take. My best guess for the reason is a US-side background check as I did get my Masters and PhD degrees from Colorado.

I am going to start writing a review day from everything to date and then once I get the P4 letter, case arrive at embassy I will update it again and then after the interview of course update then too. Visa Issued: October 28th, 2014

Visa arrived in mail: October 29th, 2014

Thanks so much! I will for sure keep you informed. I am going to start writing a review day from everything to date and then once I get the P4 letter, case arrive at embassy I will update it again and then after the interview of course update then too. I'll probably get it up later today. Prayers and all the best for you two and wishing you a CC ASAP! :)

I know after all those months of waiting, NVC and interview has been quick. Taking 17 months to reach NVC has been the hardest part. How did your interview go?
