I'm keeping my fingers & toes crossed for Tokyo! I was hoping to wake up to an email from NVC this morning, but no luck. Hopefully tomorrow!

I just called NVC and the operator said he doesn't have my interview date yet. Hmm..I thought Tokyo embassy is not that busy since many people could change their interview date to the earlier date like 3-4 weeks, but they decide the interview date pretty late for us? Cannot wait!

A very happy status update: My wife's visa was approved at her interview this morning in London.

I will write up a more detailed review later but here is the quick version:

I went with her to the embassy but I did not go in. We arrived around 7:15am. I waited at a coffee shop around the corner. Everyone at the embassy was friendly and helpful. She was inside in under 15 minutes. She waited 15 minutes for her number to be called, then spent about 15/20 minutes at the first window going over her documents and answering some questions. There was another 15 minute wait before the actual interview at the second window. The interview took only 5 minutes and she was asked only three questions:

- How long have you been married?

- Where is your husband now?

- What do you plan to do after you arrive in the USA?

Then the agent said she was approved.

All in all, she was out of there and back with me in an hour and a half.

One thing to note is they didn't want to take my updated I-864. I moved on October 1st and was hoping they would take a new one with my new address. They would have none of that! I guess I will need to file the paperwork with USCIS to let them know of my change of address?

Around the time the agent mentioned the words "approved", the CEAC case status changed to "Administrative Processing."

We filed the I-130 almost 14 months ago. It feels like an eternity. I can't say I enjoyed all the uncertainty and waiting of this past year. I'm thrilled to have all of that now behind us!

Can you please elaborate embassy will consider PD to schedule an interview? I filed I130 for my wife in Feb 14 and she got her case complete on Oct 14. I am US citizen. So, she will have to wait for her interview like LPR's spouses do? I thought PD doesn't really matter for US citizen spouses while scheduling an interview.

Welcome aboard msc, so happy to see you here. I pray they give you the earliest available date. Looks like you got case complete around 60 days since your IV checklist was scanned in. NVC just played a prank with you when they told you about the change in last scan date.

You know dilmera I am wondering the same thing. I think our CC may be as simple as it was our turn. I don't think the supervisor did anything. Still, I guess we will never know. Do they schedule a whole country together for interviews. It is all new to me this bit.

Hi Everyone,

Wondering if someone can assist. I submitted original documents (marriage doc/sponsors birth certificate) PLUS photocopies of each to the NVC. These were accepted. However, I am an idiot and apparently did not make additional third copies. If I did, I cannot find them.

While our document status checklist indicates we do not have to bring anything additional to the interview other than the appointment letter, evidence, passport photos/biopage, DS-260 confirmation, and medical exam packet, my husband and I don't feel very good about showing up to the interview without additional photocopies of our 2 civil docs.

Will this be a major problem? Should I contact the embassy in Montreal and ask? Or can we trust that both the photocopies and originals were forwarded by the NVC.

Yes I know this was a dumb move on my part, but I was following Saylin's directions so literally that I must not have made more copies.

Appreciate any guidance.

We leave for our interview in Montreal on Sunday, wow that came fast! Today was my last day at work before our trip, and we are putting our house up for sale the day we get back so life has been a whirlwind!

Combined air miles with credit card points to get 2 round trip flights to montreal for only $12, was super happy about that! The hotel we are staying in has a pool and hot tub, we are there for 5 days for the medical and then interview so I will definitely be making use of those.

Like the poster from Winnipeg, I didn't get the RCMP police certificate only the Winnipeg one with National Criminal Records search box checked off so hopefully that will be enough, if it is not there is no time to do anything else at this point. I have not gotten any extra checklists or requests for info from the consulate so I am really hoping we will be okay.

Like the poster from Alberta, we will be doing our medical and interview all on the same trip, medisys told me they need 3 business days to process results, I gave them 4 just to be safe. I'm grateful that our interview fell on a Friday so we don't have to stay for the weekend when no processing is being done anyway.

Tonight I have to finish packing our bags and getting the final touches put on the immigration binder, tomorrow a trip to the spa for a couples massage, the perfect way to unwind from all this stress before the interview so we can be relaxed and natural. SO excited to move on to the next part of our lives already!

I am flying to Montreal on Sunday too! Maybe we'll bump into one another I will be scouting out the location of the embassy Sunday evening - My interview is Monday! Good luck with everything. I opted to just go with my regional police cert as well since the box was checked that there was no match on the RCMP database. Hopefully fine! I did get an email requesting a couple things (petitioners birth cert, kids' citizenship proof), but no request for a new police cert.

Hello All,

My husband has a Nov 18, 2014 interview in Dominican Republic. Of course I will be attending. People like to opine negitively regarding the out come of these interviews. I am an educated american citizen, daughter of Dominican parents. I am 15 years elder my husband (I don't look my age at all). Everyone is telling us that they will give us a hard time because of our age difference. We were also told that because I am the elder, I will get grilled. My answe to that is I really don't mind. I have a plethera of phone bills, whatsapp messsages, texts, shutterfly photo ablums etc. Ever since we met, I have traveled every two months making that a total of 27 times in the last 2 1/2 years we have together.

Are they so rude at these interviews to the point of insulting and embarrasing us becuase of our age differnce?

Can someone really be honest with me regarding what I should expect. It will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Congratulations and thank you for the update. My husband's interview is on Monday. Keep us posted on when the visa is in hand. Have a great day! Cheers!

Thanks! It was easy as pie. I posted a more detailed description on the London embassy review page there: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=15502

In terms of the timing it was almost exactly as described by other recent IR1/CR1 reviews in London. Good luck on Monday!

Thanks! I'm the petitioner and wasn't in London when my wife did her medical, so I can't really say a lot about it. There is a thread on the UK regional forum (I think the title contains something like "Knightsbridge medical") where people review their experience at the medical. I believe my wife's experience was pretty much in sync with recent write ups there.

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.
