Congratulations on the Interview date I have added you to spreadsheet. Nothing yet has come up for Bosnia. But they may be waiting until last minute. Have you been following your petition on the CEAC and seen it say In-Transit? Have you called NVC to ask if your petition has been sent out that's the only way to know what you track is indeed yours.

CEAC site has Immigration Visa Application "READY"

And bellow: "Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the US Consular section. If you have already scheduled an appointment for an interview, please prepare your docs as directed...Otherwise. please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment..."

So, what does READY mean?

I just checked on DHL website, and if I enter EXP 16 OCT 2014A without specifying a country Bosnia, I get packets listing for other countries but none going to Bosnia. However, if I enter EXP 16 OCT 2014A and specify Bosnia for country I get result that packet was sent on October 17, and it got delivered to Sarajevo, Bosnia on Oct 20.

I'm guessing these are my docs, I haven't heard anyone else from Bosnia having CC recently besides myself. And this date matches my case. I received interview letter on Oct 17, letter was dated Oct 16. When I called them, operator told me that they sent out my docs on Oct 17.

Congrats! Fellow Oct filer! :star: Finally!

You'll receive a CC letter in a week from your CC date. :star:

You sent the sponsor's original birth certificate to USCIS!? :wow:

I sent a copy so that might be why they're requesting me to bring the original one.

Thank you Austin:)!!

Dear Singer,

When you are in AP, the embassy/consulate/Washington DC is comparing your name against all sorts of bad-guy databases. If there is a match (a "hit"), then it takes a little longer to check and find out if you are an OK-person.

If you have a common surname for your country (Smith or Johnson for the US, Patel for India, Park or Lee for Korea, Suzuki for Japan, as examples), then the chances of your name getting a "hit" on one of the databases is even higher. If your given and family name combination is the same as a bad-guy, then it takes time to make sure YOU are not the bad guy.

As an example - I was really nervous about my I-130 being approved, because my first-middle-last name combination was the exact same one as a woman who was arrested for child abuse. We were also within one year of age - making it even scarier... Luckily, we don't look alike!

I am not sure if the embassy/consulate has exactly the same databases as Washington, DC.

Love you Sukie Thatnk you for that great explanation. You are so smart. How you doing by the way? All adjusted to the US!! :goofy:

Dwheels, you're a doll. I'm the USC, by the way. My partner, Julie, is doing well here, but we are taking a trip back to Australia as she has a BIG birthday this year, and she has a twin! And the twin is celebrating her 40th wedding anniversary on their BIG birthday. So we are all going to celebrate in Hong Kong for a week!

Only cuz we mailed it from Japan and when we got to the post office finally, we discovered we had forgotten to make a copy of it. At that point it was easier to mail the original and order a replacement one then to try to find a photocopier and then get back to the post office before it closed. Lol

As you mentioned it, I don't think there is a photocopier at the post office in Japan.

Convenience stores like 7-Eleven, Lawson, and FamilyMart have a photocopier. :dancing:

Yes, I got that email yesterday! Thank goodness I have it because it would be very short notice to get it otherwise! I guess it is a new requirement. We sent in a copy of it with the I-130 so I guess it makes sense they need to see original. They also asked for me what "status" my children have in the US and to email scans of my childrens' passports to prove their US citizenship.

FYI I did ask them if it was possible to move the interview earlier, because I still hadn't booked travel in the hopes that even a few days earlier it would be possible. I got a kind reply from a rep explaining that in Canada they only "expedite" appointments for extreme health or humanitarian reasons. I guess even if our docs had gotten there sooner we still wouldn't have been moved to earlier dates. Ah well. So goes this process.

Nice to know that I wasn't the only one who received the email requesting to bring the petitioner's birth certificate to the interview! :star:

I also appreciate the info of the Montreal Consulate not willing to change your interview date unless it's an emergency. :dead: Now I know.

Hey hi dilmera

Do you have interview at Mumbai consulate?

hi, yes I have interview at the Mumbai Consulate.

Either call NVC or wait f the interview letter. But they aren't scheduling right now so you probably don't have a date yet. They finished November scheduling 1st week in October.

Aren't they supposed to send the file to embassy AFTER the interview is scheduled??

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
12/30/2012: Got engaged.
1/16/2013: Got married in India.

I-130:
2/28/2013: Attorney mailed the I-130 from a U.S. address.
3/4/2013: Priority date, NOA1.
11/6/2013: Case was transferred to Nebraska Service Center.

1/6/2014: 60 days of transfer are up, put in an e-request, given 30 days' time. Contacted the senator. Senator asked to wait till Feb 6 and if nothing then she will do something.
2/5/2014: Website status changed to RFE.
2/10/2014: Attorney gets RFE. They need G325A and photos of both me and husband, original marriage certificate, copy of marriage record and it's translation.
2/15/2014: Mailed the requisite documents to husband.
2/19/2014: Documents received by husband.
2/24/2014: RFE mailed.
2/26/2014: Case status changed to RFE review.
3/6/2014: After 367 days, NOA2.

After approval kept calling NVC but NVC always had one reply, file was not in their system. Husband too called USCIS National Customer Service Center and was told case was sent to NVC.
4/2/2014: Write to NSCFollowup to know about the status of the petition.
4/10/2014: Put in a ?service request with USCIS starting with OVP to locate case.
4/16/2014: Reply from NSCFollowup that the U.S. law prohibited that office from responding to anyone other than the petitioner and to have the petitioner contact them.
4/18/2014: Sent email to NVC Research to locate the case.
4/22/2014: Petitioner sent email to NSCFollowup
5/14/2014: Receive email from NVC Research that they do not have a record of receiving the petition.
5/16/2014: Congressman's immigration caseworker contacted supervisor at NSC who said the petition is pending and will be dispatched in two weeks.
5/27/2014: Petitioner received response from NSCFollowup that the case was pending an internal extended review. Really?

Ok now i can say officially.

CASE COMPLETE. I got the AOS fees changed from PAID TO N/A on October 16, and confirmed by calling them but after what happened to Soloenta I don't trust them. FInally today got my email CONFIRMATION. :star::star::star::star::star::star::star::star::dance::dance::dance::dance:

I guess now i am on this thread. Woohoo.. Now to wait for them to schedule an interview .hopefully early december.

@dwheels ---- thank you so much for keeping this page and renewing it monthly. I added myself to the google spreadsheet.

Congratulations. I think AOS fee didn't change to N/A in Soloenta's case. So far I have found it to be a reliable indicator of case complete.

I'm the beneficiary, wife of USC.
