November 2014 Interviews

Hi all, sorry I haven't been on in a few days, seems like there has been a lot to catch up on! It has been a whirlwind here, Monday I got the interview email, called medisys in Montreal to book the medical exam. They wanted to book it Tuesday for a Friday interview but I thought that was just too close for comfort so I made it Monday instead. Even then I will be holding my breath until we have results in hand. Had to book appointment with his gp for vaccinations beforehand, flights to Montreal and hotel for a week, packing up boxes at home, making the for sale sign and website to sell our house, touch up painting around the house, etc. if all goes well we are hoping to list our house the day we get back, would be nice to sell before the brunt of winter sets in.

Question for those who have had their medical already, I saw somebody mention what boxes to tick? Is there a questionnaire to fill out at the medical? Is it the same for all countries? Is it posted online anywhere? My husband had been treated for depression and anxiety but it was years ago, he is fine now, and we don't really have any records that say anything, hope that doesn't mess us up down the road.[/

There is a form you need to fill in before the medical. It's part of the PDF file for your countries medical info on the NVC site. If he has had depression, he will need to a letter from his doctor saying he is ok now and what was prescribed for it, how long it lasted etc. they just want to know he's a not a danger to himself or others.

@ CoolGirl

My interview had in mumbai on 7th Oct, CO gave 221(g) for submit my joint sponsor 2013 W2 forms through VFS. CEAC status was AP last updated date 07 Oct. I submitted them in VFS next day with passport on 08 Oct. Now CEAC status is AP last updated date is today 09 Oct. Is there any chance to issue visa without changing the CEAC status to Issued??

As they mentioned these lines under AP "If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days."

There is no way your visa can be issued with ap bodly written on the ceac website. It will absolutely change from Ap to issued once you are approved and once it change that means it has been issued 100%. Don't worry your visa will be issued shortly. My husband was also put in AP because we were asked to send in an original marriage certificate, we had the interview on 24th of october and we sent in the certificate on the 26th of october and it was delivered on the 1st of october and the visa was issued on the 3rd of october and it changed from AP to Issued. So stay strong, your passport with the visa is going to be with you soon

Thank you very much for this info...

i need some clarification please

i sent my aos package august 22 and my iv package september 17 so anything from nvc :clock: and i dont know if they combine both of packages ?? and if they give CC after 60 days from aos (augus 22)?? please help me thank you

I thought I saw someone else answer this question. Sorry if I am repeating an answer!

They are taking about 60 days from the last piece of mail you sent in. So 60 days from Sept 17. Then, IF it is correct (which is the scary part), and they don't need anything else to be sent, then your case should be complete. You can call them around that time, or wait about an extra 7 days later to get an email confirming it.

Hope this helps.

Guys,

I had my POE yesterday evening at ATLANTA>

It was pretty much a breezy after the bad start to the flight, which was delayed by 4 hrs, which resulted in missing my connecting flight. Nevertheless I reached ATL 4-5 hrs later than the expected time.

At POE, I was taken for finger printing, And another place which handles immigration like our cases, made to sit after I Submitted my sealed envelope. Once the papers work from their side was done, I was made to sign, and given a temperory green card stamp on my passport, along with a small slip with the time frame I need to remove the conditions. That was it! No questions asked :)

Totally took me not more than 20 mins.

Good luck to everyone else :)

Sadly yes. I know. We all know. This process is never ending and sad. Good luck to you too. As AustinCanada said (below) go check in with the group in the NVC Filers - Oct 2014 thread (link below), you will find many more people facing the same annoying waiting period. Best of luck!

Hi thanks for your reply... The issue is that the doctor he saw is no longer practicing here, she has moved away and the gp does not have it in his records. I hope this does not cause issues for us, he sees his gp one last time next Wednesday before we go. I guess I will ask for a printout of whatever records he has and go from there

absolutely normal, and he should not open the envelope. The cut it there so he can peak and see there is only papers packed in the envelope, not any illegal substance or what have you. Make sure he knows not to open the envelope. That is the Customs Officer's job. Congratulations on the visa!

If there is no record of it, it might cause problems. There should be something somewhere. If there was no record and it wasn't major or chronic depression, I wouldn't mention it. Yes, get the medical records and see if there is anything. There might be a Canadian medical forum on here to ask for advice, if not try the London one. I had two periods of depression but not major and 14 years apart, both reactive and I took a summary page of medical history. They were happy with that.
