Amal you can get levis for 5 or 7 JOD in the second hand shops in downtown Irbid. They also have a Levis factory in Jordan. It's all about the trademark in Jordan.

Ok here's my tip. Your significant other will not be use to the food here at first and will probably get constipated and be embarassed to tell you. Another thing if your SO is on the thin side like mine is they might want to bring a lot of jeans and dress pants. If i can donate some of my adipose tissue/fat to my husband I would

ok, that must have been what he was talking about! Beings that he lived in Irbid, I'm sure he went to many-a second hand store there. That also makes a lot more sense as to why they would be so cheap  thanks

He told me something the other day...he said good shoes are hard to come by in Jordan (unless you want to pay top dollar for them) and that he was surprised at the cheap, good quality shoes that wally world has. He spent a bunch of money on 2 pairs of shoes before he came here and they are the most uncomfortable things I've ever had on my feet (yes we wear the same size shoes). He won't even wear them now that we bought him some good walking shoes from a "reputable sports store" on sale for 25 dollars.

Yeah, I would say to bring up the cost of shoes before they come here...it just may save them some cash...

Many medicines that you can get over the counter back home you need a prescription for here - and those are hard to come by, and expensive. So, bring a good sized supply of your own medicine with you.

Also, when your sweetie gets here, take him on a tour of your medicine cabinet.

I said I was sorry!!! :crying::crying::crying:

awwww....quick draw mcgraw here!!!

My husband says it's ok, God wills what He wants.

He'll also talk with me tonight about the wali thing, which I'll pass on to you

What did I miss????

Allah tries his chosen people through many hardships, but those who persevere through adversity, surrendering themselves before the will of Allah, shall be blessed with a superb reward.

-The Prophet Muhammad (SAW), as reported by Anas bin Malik

A time will come when the sky is torn apart; when the stars scatter, and the ocean drains away; and when the graves are tossed about, and laid open. At that time every man will be told what he has done, and what he has failed to do; and every woman will be told what she has done, and what she has failed to do.

What is with the tight jeans men wear over there? When I went to Jordan I brought my fiance some jeans, looser fitting jeans, he was so relieved, LOL.

Mooooooody, I missed ya! Any word yet?

Oh shite, I HAVE to comment on the tight 80's jeans. My fiance's favorite pair of jeans he wore EVERYDAY when we first got together were these light stonewash TIGHT 80's style jeans from HELL! When we were at work, everytime he entered the room I had to bust out and sing the WHAM! (Geroge Michaels) 80's all time classic, "Wake me up before you go go......" He had no clue.

This actually brought to mind a serious discussion every woman here should have with their S.O., tempers tend to flair alot back home. This is one thing many guys are gonna have to learn how to control. Even if he is not really a hot head, this may affect you. If you are walking in a mall and another man checks you out, it would be enough to get an a$$ whooping back home but they can't do that here. I have talked to my fiance about this alot and tried to explain to him what people here do and don't do.

He understands me well, but I always think about that honor thing in the back of my mind. That is one that about arabic men, their strong sense of pride and honor, and if they feel anyone has threatened, disrespected, or hurt their S.O., they might overreact. Back home they don't get arrested for this kind of stuff, but here you most definitly do.
