Since the I-94 is electronic, can my fiance go to SSN as soon as POE is done?

Otherwise, if my fiance does change her surname after marriage (which we planned close to her POE), can she apply for SSN soon afterwards on her 1) maiden name or 2) married name?

normally you can go about two weeks after entering to get Social Security Card. Problem is many people on here have gone to Social Security Office and have had some issues…you may want to print this out before you go

Thank you for the advice. But I have been reading conflicting reports. Some people have gotten SSN two days or so after arrival as the I94 is now electronic. So I wanted to hear from a few who have had this experience.

Also, if my fiance does change her surname after marriage (which we planned close to her POE), can she apply for SSN soon after marriage on her 1) maiden name or 2) married name?
