Probably none. Most of us aren't too bright.

I would.

TM attacked GZ and bashed his head into the sidewalk, so by your own words in a prior post above, he had to be stopped.

So the patient that the soldier injured and those that he was about to harm stalked him in the hospital? Try as you may, the murder of TM is not relevant here.

Hope the soldier will be brought up on charges for his criminal conduct and his welcome revoked. He should be sent home and face additional charges there. He's lucky this happened in Germany. Had it happened here, chances are he'd be dead.

german police aren't good shots? or german police are scared? hell there was four of them. Edited by SMOKE

Quit flip flopping and be consistent in your anti gun stance. It's ok to shoot the soldier for injuring someone at the hospital but it's not ok to shoot someone who attacks you?

Hopefully the police will be brought up on charges for using excessive force and endangering the lives of hospital patients and staff by discharging a firearm indoors in close quarters. Tazing would have been more appropriate. Since when is being attacked with a weapon other than a gun an excuse to shoot someone?

'Its rare for German police to use their firearms, but the use of force is being investigated by the Bavarian State Office of Criminal Investigation.'

there was four of them there too...what rhymes with pussies?

Considering how many folks here in the USA who have panic attacks because they can only carry 2 guns at any given time when they leave the house, we are in no position to point fingers.

I don't cc. so *points*

I concede if you don't.

It used to be a man was defined by his ability to put up his dukes and fight, win or lose. That's how you got respect. At some point, that got thrown out of the window, and now it's all about shooting someone to avoid getting a black eye.

You need to look at the context of both events and - if you are able to look at it objectively - you will find that these events are not even close to comparable. Not in the events leading up to the use of a firearm nor in the result of that use. But you cannot look at it objectively so you think they are comparable despite all the glaringly obvious differences. There's really nothing else to be said here.

If the relevant authorities are going to investigate the shooting, that's really all you can reasonably expect. Provided people have confidence in the police and the justice system to investigate police shootings in a transparent way there's no reason for any further controversy. It seems to me that there were a lot of eye witnesses to this incident, so there shouldn't be any concerns about a whitewash. It will be interesting to see what happens...

I think the problem in the US is that there is a general distrust of the police...
