Jacob Mugambi Muriithi, a native of Kenya, was arrested Friday in Oklahoma City on a terrorism complaint.

In a bizarre coincidence, a fired Oklahoma City nursing home employee was arrested Friday after a co-worker reported he threatened to cut her head off.

Jacob Mugambi Muriithi, 30, is being held in the Oklahoma County jail on a terrorism complaint. His bail is set at $1 million.

“We take these threats very seriously,” Oklahoma County District Attorney David Prater said.

The arrest came on the same day police in Moore revealed fired Vaughan Foods worker Alton Alexander Nolen beheaded a co-worker after he was fired Thursday. Nolen is a Muslim convert.

Muriithi was identified as a native of Kenya who is living in Oklahoma City. He worked at Bellevue Nursing Home in northwest Oklahoma City, police reported.

The co-worker reported Muriithi threatened her while they were both working at the nursing home Sept. 19, a police detective wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit.

The woman was not identified.

She said Muriithi identified himself as a Muslim and said he “represented ISIS and that ISIS kills Christians,” the detective told a judge in the affidavit. The two had not worked together before.

ISIS is a reference to Islamic State militants responsible for highly publicized beheadings in the Middle East.

The woman said she asked him why they kill Christians and he replied, “This is just what we do,” the detective reported.

“The victim said Jacob asked her what time she got off work and she replied by asking him in a joking manner if he was going to kill her,’ the detective wrote. “Jacob told the victim, ‘Yes,’ he was going to cut her head off. The victim asked Jacob what he was going to cut her head off with and he said, ‘A blade,’ then told her after he did it he was going to post it on Facebook.

“The victim said Jacob was serious when speaking and never made any statements that he was joking or playing around.”

The woman reported Muriithi repeated the threat as she left work, saying in front of another employee that he was going to use a blade, the detective reported.

The FBI said Friday about the tragedy in Moore that there is no current indication of any additional threat to residents of Oklahoma related to that incident.

Not the smartest guy is he? The person being threatened clearly didn't believe he would actually do it. You don't keep asking questions like that if you fear for your life. No idea why anyone would behave in this way, except to get notoriety and seemingly, he got it. I don't see how this is particularly newsworthy outside of the fact that he claims to be a muslim, ordinarily this wouldn't even get a mention in the local news paper. Gotta love fear mongering.

I use to think that radical islam was on our shores... I have been assured by folks on here that is not the case. Now I sleep better at night. .. Today i was sending a few hundred rounds downrange.. This week I will attend another defensive drill What do the brits on here call it.... war games thats it... Any ways just a drill to handle stressful events. Sounds like they will have to cover attempted beheadings.in the future.

This wasn't an attempted beheading. He verbally threatened a colleague in a way that didn't actually cause her any specific concern for her safety at the time. Responding to a news story of a verbal threat as if it was evidence of a mass uprising of muslims to behead infidels (which is the way you seem to be presenting this story) is quite simply an over reaction, but you know that already, don't you?

The only reason it was a terrorist complaint was because he self identified as being sympathetic to radical extremist views, not because he verbally threatened a co worker. Can you not accept that you have over reacted to this story?

Stop the hate and the fear mongering neither of which are American or patriotic.

Most likely you have misunderstood what you've been told. Terrorism of one form or another has always been a threat. What people disagree with you over is firstly, the assumption that a few random killings will become commonplace occurrences (they are rare in the extreme) and secondly with your specific assertion that these terrorists will enter the country by the southern border as part of some coordinated plan. It has even been pointed out to you, if evidence were needed, that this was totally not the case with the 9/11 hijackers. You don't want to hear that though, you'd prefer to invent fantasies to justify your own paranoia.

I'm actually surprised that you haven't drawn a connection between this Kenyan and 'the Kenyan'. I guess you aren't completely deluded and there is still hope.
