Send documents with MEEST?

Hi,

Did anyone use MEEST to send documents to Ukraine?

I am interested in what service to use to send documents to my fiance after we get our NOA2. She lives in a small town in the West so i think some couriers are out of the question (might be wrong on that though).

No, only sent packages with Meest and only to a major city (Dnipropetrovsk), but they always arrived within a week and half with no problems. The courier calls the person to arrange delivery and then they bring it to the house.

I would suggest USPS they have new world shipment service (seen today at post office, or it's called pretty similar to what i mentioned), and they will give you tracking number, as soon as letter is in Ukraine your fiancee can receive it at the post office or in mail box, (myself never had problems getting mail via USPS in Ukraine). If the docs are super important you can use DHL or UPS, I know they deliver door to door....

As for Meest, i had years ago packaged, but never mail. No complaints as well.

That's what i am thinking too, to use USPS so that she has to go to the post office to sign for it. I guess the documents are not super important because they can be duplicated easily, like letter from employer, I-134 and so on.

I send packages with Meest all the time but never documents.

than if you can duplicate them, I would go with USPS (i bet they should offer something like signing in for docs upon receiving).

forgot to say, also you can do FedEx,,,,,,,it's a bit expensive but still......in case if some docs turn to be irreplaceable

For USPS I had a hit and miss thing with them. When I sent postcards, they arrived about a month later (but it's the cheapest way to send). For packages, sometimes it took about 2.5 weeks, but one time it took about 4 months or so, but eventually it does get delivered. Nothing I ever sent via USPS arrived faster than 2.5 weeks (and this is to a major city). Their prices weren't any cheaper than Meest except for the smallest of small packages. Their tracking is also pretty bad, it'll tell you it got to the international clearing center, but than that's all for tracking. Maybe eventually it'll show up on tracking in Ukrposhta, but not necessarily.

My thing via USPS were delivered quite on time. Letters 7 days, package 10 days. Tracking worked all-right, but vbtwo may be right, it may not work with small towns, cos all of mine was always shipped to Kyiv....
