Once you get through on the phone to NVC, give them your USCIS NOA2 Receipt Number or also known as i-797 Receipt Number

They will verify both Petitioner and Beneficiary full name, and date of birth then ask them for the NVC case number and status.

If they have not received it yet, they will say its not in the system and can take up to X days for NVC to receive.

HILARIOUS!

I'm reading through old threads on NVC delays and look at the name on the NVC email this VJer received:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/374759-k1-three-weeks-since-noa2-nvc-still-has-not-received-my-petition/#entry5488025

JESS! I know USMSBOW is on his way to Indonesia but I'm sure he'll find this funny when he checks in.

We got our NOA2 last November 7th. Called NVC the other day and I was told they already forwarded my case to embassy here in Japan on December 3rd. We are really confused as what will happen after. My fiancé didn't get any notice from NVC regarding this. He's worried we still yet to submit w2 and other financial docs. What are we going to do?

Great success on the rest of your journey!

Thanks for the response. It was my fault I didn't ask for our case number when I called NVC last Friday because I got too excited when I heard they already forwarded the case to U.S. embassy in Tokyo..

Yeah, it will, Bruce. I plan on taking my time on the drive, stopping to take some pictures (there's an abandoned schoolhouse I need to revisit) and then we'll go to Flaming Joe's for wings, drink lots of beer and put up the Santa tree. It's our puppy's first Christmas!
