Thank you for the encouragement! I'll keep trying. I consistently get the feeling from the uscis that they would make up a story on the spot to make me go away. It feels like a game of wills to see just how much of a thorn in their side I'm willing to be until they take notice and do something. How tiresome.

Yes, it is exactly that. You basically have to nag and nag until they feel like it is more effort dealing with you than doing the actual work.

well something happened today for me. My case status went from:

On November 21, 2014, your Filing Question, referral number WKDxxxxxxCSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

To:

On December 2, 2014, your Filing Question, referral number WKDxxxxxxCSC, was assigned to an officer for response.

WOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Last time that happened, the next day I got a reply to my service request. Hoping that happens again today, but I'm not holding my breath on that one...

Has anyone had success by getting a Congress person involved? We're waiting to see if it works for us.

No. Mine has been useless: took over a week to get back to me and has yet to give me any info.

That being said, my congresswoman has no vote in Congress and I don't have a senator to contact since I live in DC.

When I called today I was told it takes at least 35 days for them to receive approved petitions and not to phone back until after then. I'm sure that's inaccurate? 35 days- really?

That's the generic answer a lot of them will tell you. The more friendly, experienced ones don't give you that BS usually. Basically what that means is at day 35, they'll change their canned answer to, "Oh wow! You should e-mail nvcresearch@state.gov! It shouldn't have taken that long!"

Edit: sorry, this is a reply to Pheebs above, forgot to use the quote function.

rory, I have a hunch your case is with mine, Angela's, Tuktawiparat's, and Laurak's. All our NOA2 dates are around the same time (mid-September). I'm really hoping all our work will help all our files reach NVC.

It's like the Neverending Story. My dog looks like Falcour. Maybe that will strike us lucky.

Next time you call, they might say 28 business days. Or four to five weeks. Or 42 days. They have a list of time frames they randomly choose from to throw bull-shat at you.

Sept. 18th approved (was so happy)

77 days later still not at the NVC

WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!

You'll find more understanding in this thread. There are a few of us in your situation and we know how frustrated you are.

Honestly, I feel like I'm chasing a puppy that won't come when it's called.

When I finally catch it, I know I'm going to want to shake the living out of it but I know I'm not allowed to.

I've been waiting for two months for a reply from NVC. I've called USCIS and they said it takes up to 90 days to get to NVC????????

Just go back a few pages on this thread. You'll see what you should be doing and that the 90 days is standard BS from tier 1 people. There are some tips to get past those drones and talk to a Tier 2 person, who might not be much help, but won't give you that lie either.

You have two choices:

1. You can accept that answer and wait 90 days, probably not getting the result you want at the end of 90 days.

2. You can keep calling and asking for a Tier 2 IO until you get an answer you think you like.

I like that: "get an answer you think you like." Yeah, you'll like it for a few days and then as time passes you know that the answer was empty and that you're in for more pain. Blah. There also seems to be a direct correlation between me liking the answer and my ability to focus on work.
