Yes I received a response. All it said was that it was under review. So I called immediately and asked for another service request, haven't heard anything since. I did however call my congressman today and they seem to have put some life into all of this. They actually seemed irritated that this was going on. She even said "she should have had her interview and be here by now". Sooooo she is saying that I should hear something by this Friday. We're still not getting our hopes up because it seems that every time we do we end up being hurt more and more each time.

Uggh, I hope my response isn't that empty (but I have a hunch it will be). At least your congressman's office was responsive. Mine has been on par with USCIS and NVC. Frustrating.

Have you been waiting as long as we have? What has your congressman said to you?

I've waited a week longer than you (my NOA2 was Sept. 10th). My congresswoman hasn't been able to get any info from USCIS (or so her office has told me). I live in DC though, so I basically am screwed when it comes to congressional representation (she has no vote or power).

My fiancé called USCIS today regarding the vague response from the service request 10 days ago. They said our case has been located at USCIS and is in the process of being sent to NVC but he couldn't actually say if or when it was sent and that it can take 45 days to reach NVC. It's a bit of good news I guess but how on earth can it take so long to send something from one side of the states to the other? When I can get stuff sent out to my fiancé from here in the UK in 10-14 days using the cheapest available delivery option?!?!

It's better news than I got today. I received my "answer" in the mail and it was completely empty. Basically they just restated what was in the NOA2 (I was approved on September 10th, they mailed it to the NVC, which now has jurisdiction). I then called up USCIS to say #######, and they said I have to wait until I reach the 90 day mark. I'm sick to my stomach. I feel like I'm living a never-ending nightmare.

Ok, so after thinking it was complete horse s, I called back USCIS. This time the Tier 2 person told me my previous service request was to receive an approval notice (basically a NOA2 again), and that's why the reply I received was exactly that. AHHHHH! She then said she'd put in a new service request to CSC to explicitly request they re-send my application to NVC immediately and to notify me when it had been re-sent. She said it would be done by December 5th, then wished me a future happy wedding and marriage.

She also said the 90 days was not true. It is 30 days.

SO the take away people is if NVC has not received your case within 30 days, request USCIS send it again. If the USCIS person gives you some 90-day lie, just call back until you get a helpful person.

Wait ... what 90-day mark?

This is so frustrating.

How is that possible? Doesn't the NOA2 expire VERY close to 90 days? I don't have mine on me at this moment, but I remember a clear expiration date on it.

If we all have to wait another 45 days before our cases get to NVC, I'm going to need a LOT of wine.

I'll need crack.

Thanks for the info usmsbow.

whats the waiting time when calling USCIS?

First time I spoke to a Tier 2 person, it was 40 minutes. 2nd time it was an hour. USCIS has one nice feature though: you can request to be called back when it is "your turn" instead of having to wait on the phone that entire time.

The NOA2 is good for 120 days. And like I said later, I think that 90 day thing is BS. Even the NOA2 says it should reach the NVC within 30 days.

Haha. I don't know if I'll go that far but chugging straight whisky or vodka seems to have potential.

I think I read somewhere around here to not fret too much about the expiration date on the NOA-2. It means nothing.

So my NOA2 was dated 10/2/14 and I still haven't heard a word from the NVC with a case number or processing status... I finally emailed them last week and still nothing. Well, it's been nearly 7 weeks now with no word. So, I called last night, and after 45 minutes on hold I got through to someone who told me they have no record with my USCIS receipt #. They asked me to scan a copy of my NOA2 and email it to them with my USCIS receipt number in the subject line and "we will contact you when we have information on your petition." WHAT??!! That sounds an awful lot like "we have no idea where your application is and don't know what else to tell you, so goodbye." We're absolutely crushed and I have no idea how to proceed except to keep calling everyday. But if it was lost, I can't imagine I'm going to get a different answer from them. I'm devastated to think we might have to start the whole process over from the beginning... feeling just sick.

There is a lot of advice on this thread and another one or two on this forum covering your situation. There are a few of us going through a similar process. Contact USCIS and ask for them to send your application to NVC, and make it clear that you have contacted NVC, which has told you that they don't have it. If the USCIS tier 2 official does not accept your service request, try again with another tier 2 person.

Also contact your congressional office.

I know things seem pretty miserable right now, but you're not completely stuck and won't have to start from the beginning.

Hello, we just received our NOA2 and were wondering how you get updates from this point onwards? Does myUSCIS continue to update or do you have to just keeping calling NVC to get more information? I know it's early days for us yet but I just feel a bit confused about what happens next.

Thank you in advance!
