My fiancé has been trying to call for the past couple of days, several times and in different times (all working hours according to the website) and all he gets is a busy signal. Is that how it is? Would we get the case number any way else, like mailed to him (the petitioner) like the noas?

We got approved on Nov 3rd and according to the USCIS website the process was forwarded to the NVC on Nov 10th (Monday). USCIS won't give us more updates now that the process moved to the NVC, correct? Or should I keep checking their website for updates?

Yes busy tone is very normal. My fiance like many had to ring 40-50+ times before actually getting through. He rang 50+ times one after the other on a Monday morning and got through was on hold for 20mins and then got number.

They wont reply to emails forever if at all. Calling is your vest option just stick at it. Best of luck

Received nvc number tonight. Don't know what's next.

Update timeline. And get everything you need ready for next stage. Follow guides on here and embassy info.

I got case number today...after approved 29 days. Thanks all people helped me so much....hope the onea who are waitting case number will get case number next week.

I got the feeling that our cases are on someone desk waiting for the holidays... .

Yikes. I hope it gets to NVC soon. Three weeks and counting. I'm sure things will slow down with the holidays. Just don't want a case that gets sent somewhere other than NVC.

NVC finally replied to my email. It was super informative. /sarcasm

Dear Sir/Madam,

The National Visa Center received your inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice. Unfortunately we do not have a record of receiving your approved petition from the Department of Homeland Security's Office of U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). To assist you in determining the location of your petition the NVC will contact USCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition.

So basically they're confirming what I've known for weeks now. Thanks NVC!

Exactly! While I appreciate any kind of response at this point, it is also about as empty an answer as I could get.

Yes, this is the reply I sent to NVC back on October 9th.

USCIS put in the service request. As of yesterday, there was nothing. The USCIS dude even said, "Yes, I see a record of the service request, and I see the case worker assigned to it hasn't input anything yet." He then told me they have up to 30 days, but I later saw he was wrong. It's 15 days. Since today is the 15 day mark exactly, I will call USCIS back on Monday plus e-mail the service center (as directed on the USCIS website).

I don't know. They didn't say. I will probably continue calling NVC because I'm in the habit of doing it every 2-3 days anyway. I just call from work around 4-5 pm when things are quiet in my office, and it is super easy to redial from my work phone.

That's crazy. Hopefully you'll hear something more satisfying from the service request. This is so frustrating but, one guy my fiancé talked to at USCIS said that we were lucky to even have an approval. I wish we could find more people in our situation to compare responses. I wonder if it's just coincidence that we both got transferred from TSC to CSC?
