Question ???? Are we to pay for VISA before scheduling interview? Also, I am seeing different amounts $240.00 or $265.00. Please help! :sleepy:

When to pay varies, you need to check the embassy info for your embassy.

The new visa cost is $265 it use to be $240

Quick quesion. PLEASE ANYONE RESPOND ME.

Is it okay if I, the petitioner, submits the DS-160 from here, US, and then have my fiance in Dominican Republic print the confirmation. Is that ok???? or does she strictly has to be the one to submit that from DR?/

Technically the Beneficiary is the one who is supposed to submit the form, not the petitioner although many of us do. : )

I did admit on the form to helping her complete it, on the very end it asks if anyone helped you and I put in my information. We talked and she wanted me to review one last time, if you do it make you have the system email a copy to your fiancée, it will prompt after you submit it to email a copy, I had it go to her email address and to mine as well.

Has anyone else tried calling their US Embassy and being told they have to email them about the packet? No info given over the phone.

I did not try to call only emailed, my first email took two weeks to get a response, my next two were within hours.

It seems we're on the same timeline. Have you tried looking at available interview slots at USEM site?

Ok VJ members, I checked my case and this is what it says:

Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

So, NVC already scheduled the interview date for my beneficiary? Has anyone experienced this before? please shed some light. Also, how can I track my file through DHL?

Yes I called to verify and they said no it is a generic message.

But they also gave me a beneficiary I.D. # as well. Haven't seen a need for it on the DS160 on consulate site yet.

Got our consulate account established. Now we need to think about scheduling the interview.

I just called the NVC to see what's going on with my case. I had received approval letter on september 16th. They said they haven't received my case yet. I don't know what should I do

Good Morning:

You should call USCIS and verify date sent to NVC and ask them to provide tracking information. You need confirmation that indeed it was mailed and received by NVC. Hopefully its not lost and they just haven't registered your case in the system.. Stay on top of these people and disregard their instructions to wait.

Good Luck and be persistent.
