Received an RFE at Greencard Interview but one week later my Greencard arrived...

Hi,

I would like some advice please.

I had my Greencard interview in Tampa a couple of months back and we were not approved on the spot due to an apparent lack of evidence (photos, joint accounts etc). I was told by the Interviewer that he would of approved us but he just needed a little more physical evidence in the file such as more photos (I had already submitted 24 but he seemed to want more to show our times in Europe before I moved to the US) plus he wanted some old emails between us and more evidence of joint finances, accounts etc. He gave me a deadline of approximately 4 months to submit everything.

Anyway, needless to say we were disappointed but realised it was purely an administrative procedure and knew we just had to start gathering a bit more evidence. The strange thing was a couple of days later, I received an email notification alerting me that my greencard had been sent for production, then a couple of days later it said that it had been mailed...I went to check our mail the following day and there it was, my greencard was waiting for me!

I obviously was delighted but did not understand how it had arrived if I still had this RFE to submit. I assumed that the interviewer had changed his mind and decided to approve us. We had been the first interview of the day, so I wonder if he had been over precautious and then at the end of the day maybe had too many RFE's so needed to approve some as the Tampa office had been seriously behind with their applications.

The thing is, the deadline is coming up soon for my RFE and it has been bothering me lately as I don't know if it is still necessary to submit the additional evidence.

Has anyone had experience of this happening before? What should I do? As I have my Greencard, does that mean I don't need to worry about the RFE or would they be in their rights to take my Greencard back if I do not submit the extra evidence.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I would make an Infopass appointment and ask there.

Maybe a supervisor reviewed it and said there was enough to approve and sent it to production.
