My wife will be applying for her citizenship soon. I was wondering, if and when she is given a date and a time for the Oath Cereomony, is her dad able to attend the ceromony on a visit visa? is visit visa hard to get? what are the requirements? He does not intend to stay longer than 2 weeks as he has a good job back home. Later, she does intend on filing a petition for both parents.

Mom already has a tourist visa.

Have Dad do exactly as Mom did. Anyone can apply for a tourist visa. Can be very difficult to obtain but we see here that Mom was granted one.

Just like Mom he has to prove that he MUST return.

I was reading that he has to proove that he enough money to cover for his expenses. They keep no money in banks which is very common in Pakistan.

Is there anything that I could provide that would satisfy that I will make sure that he goes back? or something??

The only thing you can do is help him understand he must PROVE he will return. Money wont make them come back because he can move it so easily.

I'm not sure how money is commonly kept in Pakistan. But yes, he may be asked how he plans to pay for the trip, and he may then be asked to show proof of funds. Note: may.

As far as applying for a visa. The major pitfall for tourist visa applicants is usually a broadly defined, but vague paragraph in section 214(b) of the INA - basically states that all applicants for non-immigrant visas should be assumed to be intending immigrants until satisfied otherwise.

If he has a good job in Pakistan, he should probably bring some pay stubs, an employer letter etc. something to show he works there, makes a stable income and doesn't intend to leave. If they own a house, bring evidence of that. If they have a dog, bring pictures of the dog etc. Anything that reasonably shows he'd be crazy to leave Pakistan and never come back.
