Affidavit of support concern

Hi guys! I am scheduled for an interview on Oct 2 and I am worried about the affidavit of support. My fiance earned lower than the poverty guideline last year (2013) which is reflected in his 2013 Form 1040 and W2. Currently, he is employed in a different company with higher salary that will meet the 125% poverty guidelline. He started in his new work in June 2014. I have a copy of his letter of employment stating the salary offered to him and his recent pay stubs and his bank statement. Do you think there will be a problem if his earnings in 2013 did not meet the poverty guideline? And he just started to earn that much this June? Thank you so much in advance for reading my post.

Anyone who recently finished their schooling would be in that situation. I can't imagine it being a problem.

Yes, provide the letter from employer and pay stubs to prove the current income amount.

I think you should be fine as well. The fact that you can show the petitioner is moving forward on the income thing is always a positive. People like to see that.

Did he recently graduate from college? Because base on my experience ITR thats above poverty level is really important. You need to wait for his tax return nextyear and send it to the embassy that when you will get your visa approved.

Hi devyteddy66! He was employed in a different company last year. He was not earning that much that's why he looked for another company. And he started to work in his new company in June.

There was no mention of school in the OP's post. It said fairly clearly he changed jobs.
