Thanks, GGG! I am so happy!

I am planning to file for citizenship as soon as I can, but since my husband and I are going on a long-term trip (under 6 months, but still long), I won't be able to apply 90 days before my 3rd year anniversary of my permanent residency. Therefore, I will apply after we come back from our trip, which will probably be several months after you apply.

I will be checking the N-400 forum well before we apply and will probably see you there!

I didn't realize that we can file 90 days before the 3 year anniversary. We'll need to look into this because getting this completed by the end of next year would be awesome!!

I checked my status on the USCIS website this afternoon, and my status has finally changed to: "My New Card Is Being Produced"! About 30 minutes after I received a text and an email that my card is in production and should arrive within 30 days of the approval of my application. Glad they in the end updated the information online and in their other systems!

Definitely apply for citizenship as soon as you can, it might take them another year to process the application based on the state's local office and I know Atlanta is a year behind.

Back from the interview this morning at 7:15 am.

Short story: we're approved!

Long story: Got there at 6:40. Got to waiting room at 7:15. Got called in at 7:45. The IO was a very relaxed and gracious man. Started off by commenting on how much evidence we provided and that he only had time to go through half. Asked my wife if she has ever been arrested, been deported or was in removal proceedings, no, no and no. He then started going through all of our stuff. He made a comment that "if we were approved" which made feel like I was going to be ill. He started BSing about our trips, his vacations etc. In fact, more than half the time was just chit chat small talk. I told him we brought additional stuff and he said he would get to it. He then asked for my wife's GC so he could make a copy of it for my wife because he was going to keep her GC. When I asked why he said because we should be receiving the new card in 2-3 weeks and that we were approved. I asked him point blank why we got an interview and he said somebody at Laguna Niguel "flagged" our petition, possibly due to age (54/40). He said we provided much more than he usually sees and it was all good stuff. I asked if there is a statistical requirement that they interview a certain percentage of petitions and he said no, there is no such thing. Continued to talk about his plans for retirement later this year and a cruise that he was going on that we went on.

We then moved on to what I had brought; 2014 tax transcripts, more bank statements, more boarding passes, photos, cards etc. He was very impressed that I had brought all this new stuff and only took the tax transcripts, bank statement and made a copy of a 8 X 10 photo of from Laos April 2015. He then proceeded to type up the approval letter and we were done at 8:15. I was stressing hard the past week given what we had initially provided and no RFE. Interestingly, I made an e-request for being beyond normal processing times and a week later got the interview notice. Maybe they're connected, who knows.

We have a few months break from our friends at the USCIS before we file for naturalization in October. Glad this part of the journey is done!

Hello everyone, we had our interview on Friday as well ( I am from April thread, but I though it would be helpful to share here as well). We were one of the last couples to get called. People before us were separated and didn't look too happy. We were called in an hour later our appointment time, right around lunch time. Our officer was a kind young man. He went though a pile of paperwork that he had in front of him and asked three questions:

Where I am from

If we were still living at the same address

If we wanted to have children ( I am about 5 weeks pregnant)

That was it. Attorney gave him another pile of paperwork and the officer was like "I have nowhere to attach it, your file is already too big". He said he would make a decision that day. So we are just waiting now. The whole thing lasted may be 15 -20 minutes and was stress free. If you have a real marriage, you have nothing to worry about.

I was hoping for an approval on a spot... But i guess it doesn't happen too often.

I'm sure you'll get the approval based on your story. I was glad we had a 7:15 interview, first of the day for our IO. When we came out at 8:15 the waiting room was packed.

One-I just got back from my trip. When I went through immigrations, the agent looked at the NOA and 1 year stamp (I-551) on passport, which I got a few weeks before my trip. I was still waiting on my approval letter before I left for the trip. Really no problems having the stamp.

Two-I checked the case status app. and it says that my card is in production!!! I must have missed the approval letter while on my trip.
