Just saying :)Timing of weddings

June is the most popular month for weddings, then August, followed by September and October

here's a monthly breakdown:

January 4.7%

February 7.0%

March 6.1%

April 7.4%

May 9.8%

June 10.8%

July 9.7%

August 10.2%

September 9.6%

October 9.4%

November 7.4%

December 7.8%

It is a really good breakdown, but based on the fact June '14 was transferred to CSC in Nov, since then which is 7 months now VSC hasn't been able to process even 3 complete months (July, August, September), so no matter how many weddings there is, there is no way they need 1 year to process 3 months. What are they going to do with the remaining 9 months???

My only concern about traveling is if a decision is made and it's an RFE or denial (because that is always a possibility) what happens upon reentry into the US? We are planning a big trip later in the year and having the GC stuff out of the way would be a huge relief. I don't plan to book anything until the card is in hand. :).

That's funny, my husband and I have the same problem. We have planned a big trip this year which we are planning to start in the second half of July, but if I don't get my ROC approved in the next couple of weeks we will have to cancel the trip and postpone it to the next year (we want to travel in summer). I am also not buying any tickets or paying for any hotels. I have started applying for visas though. It is also hard to apply for visas when you don't know exactly when your trip will happen... :( I am already mentally getting ready to cancel this year's big trip, but my husband is hoping we can still make it... I wish I knew that VSC is so slow before we started planning the trip...

You do not need to cancel the trip for this reason.

Get online and get an infopass appointment from your nearest USCIS center.

take your NOA and passport to your infopass appointment to get an I 551 stamp.

They will stamp your passport which equivalent to having a green card.

I got it done in Dec. and since then I have travelled twice outside the country...no issues whatsoever.

I so feel you. We have a couple of trips in mind, along with the big trip back to my husband's country. Planning without GC is only a dream trip. :) We are so ready to get our international travel on :). I've just starting looking at the visa process. It doesn't seem fun but many of the consulates are nearby so we'll do a daytrip to submit the applications. Just another process to go through. :).

I hope you hear something soon.

Thank you! I actually will have an info pass appointment tomorrow to get the stamp :) How long is the stamp valid for usually? What happens if my green card arrives when I am on my trip (our trip is going to be a long-term trip around multiple countries, not a short vacation trip)? Will I be able to enter the U.S. without my new green card and just with the old green card, the extension letter and the stamp in my passport?

Yes, too many processes to go through at the same time, and for me one process depends on the other! I hope you will hear something soon too! I will let everybody know how my info pass appointment goes tomorrow.

Technically, I am a November filer. I sent my application in the middle of October but didn't here from USCIS until 11/3 and my biometrics wasn't scheduled until 12/3. I signed up under the October filers based on when I sent in my application and the fact that my application was submitted in October.

Yay! So happy for you! Told you, you were next! Congratulations!

Isn't that crazy. We are so happy! A big sigh of relief. :)
