what are the conditions to get i-551 stamp? because i want to go to travel out of the US on April. however, i still not got approval. i am wondering how to get i-551 stamp. Please advise!!

I went to Brazil in Feb, took my expired Greencard and the Extension letter.... everything went super smooth to get back .... I dont see a reason to get stamp when you have the letter :) my opinion ... Good luck you all!!

I got approval for my wife today (03/25), but our dependent son case is still pending.

any of you have this scenario where they approved one case but dependent is still pending?

Did you file at the exact same time?

You need to book an INFOPASS appointment and ask if they'll stamp your passport. They may or may not. I did mine and my children's just because I did not want to be carrying THREE letters around with me all the time. We travel a lot. I felt better just using the stamped passports.

No, there's not usually an option to 'just walk in' anywhere to do with immigration. You''ll need to go on the web site and book it.

The office I went in San Francisco had two lines one for people with an infopass appointment and another line for walk-ins. Both lines were not too long and if I lived closer to san fran I would have gone without an appointment.

Btw, I traveled with an expired 2 yr GC + notice of action that you get once they accepted your file and says it is extended for 1 year and it worked out just fine at LAX.

Congrats! :dancing: We have a flight on 4/9 back to see the wife's family so fingers are crossed we get it before we leave!

Hopefully we won't have to use the extension letter because twice we used a 551 stamp at LAX and it was a royal pain in secondary!
