12/05/2014 - called USCIS about delay in getting my biometrics appointment notice

12/12/2014 - received biometrics appointment notice dated 12/08/2014 with the 01/02/2015 biometrics appointment date

12/19/2014 - walk-in attempt to do early biometrics; they didn't accept walk-ins that day, so my attempt was unsuccessful

12/22/2014 - successful biometrics walk-in

06/18/2015 - ROC approved! Received a letter in the mail box on 06/22/2015

06/23/2015 - the new green card was ordered

07/02/2015 - the new green card was mailed

07/06/2015 - the card was picked up by USPS

07/08/2015 - the card was delivered

N-400:

07/11/2016 - package sent

07/13/2016 - package delivered to the USCIS Phoenix, Arizona Lockbox

07/14/2016 - NOA receipt date

07/16/2016 - biometrics scheduled for 08/02/2016

07/18/2016 - check cashed

Do I need to have the appointment letter first before doing biometric? I'm kinda worried now I will be out of the country in 2 weeks and haven't got any biometric appointment yet :(

I may be speaking to early since I only sent my package 20 days ago but in case you don't receive the appointment letter in 30 days you should call USCIS and open a service request with Tier 1 regarding your case. I was looking on April 2014 Filers thread and seems some people did not have to go for another biometrics appointment, for some reason they said their information on file was current and they did not require to go for an appointment. You can see the discussion here (starts on page 38).

We may be doing a walk-in bio appt. for next week. Has anyone been turned down for doing an early walk-in? For those who did an early walk-in what did you say?

I was rejected for an early walk-in since the one near me doesn't allow it. That was 2 years ago. On the day Of my appointment, people was being rejected for walking in earlier, this lady had an appointment at 2pm and was rejected at 10 am same day

Day 0 08/21/2012 Sent I-130, I-485, I-765 and I-131

Day 1 Received the next day via UPS

Day 6 08/27/2012 email and text for all 4

Day 10 08/31/12 NOA1 for all 4 and Biometric appointment for 09/21

Day 18 09/08/12 REF on I-485, waiting for the letter

Day 31 09/21/12 Biometrics done

Day 34 09/24/12 RFE hard copy for I-864

Day 51 10/11/12 RFE Response sent (about 30 days behind)

Day 55 10/15/12 RFE response review

Day 64 10/24/12 Online status changed to EAD/AP Card production

Day 72 11/01/12 EAD/AP Card arrived!!

Day 73 11/02/12 Interview SMS for December 3rd
