I did sign up for the text and email alert's, i did not recive ethier of them. I saw the message TZZ had posted and though to my self, i had not checked the site in a few days, and low and be hold, i found i got my aproval the same day. For the month of feb i was pretty dilligent in checking there site to see if anything had changed but that started to wain once VSC june i think it was, was transfered.

Same here...no email no txt. I found the USCIS app and install it on my iPhone...this app informed me yesterday that my status has changed and card was ordered...def recommended! ;) good luck

we should've sent the application in july but we procrastinated. it was no fun dealing with us airways and bcp on our trip to cancun in feb with an expired card and a noa letter.

I did even to leave the US because I was flying out through Canada which requires a transit visa for Brazilians....with a valid GC I could flight out and back without any problems but with the expired visa and a letter stating that my GC was being extended for a year but if my case was terminated the letter was not valid at all I could not show proof of my current status. Gladly I had issues to renew my driver's license before I even came to visit my family and they would not accept the letter either long story short I drove 6 hours just to get an I-551 stamp, with the stamp I was able to renew my DL and flight out of US but still they would check the stamp in order to let me board the plane will see on the way back in a few days.

You had issues being allowed on the plane?

On the leg from Phoenix to Cancun, US Airways required passengers to check in at the gate even they had already verified all travel documents at the departure point (SJC). The gate agent threw out a chilling line like this, "This letter might not be accepted" though technically, airlines have no authority whatsoever to check for residency status of a passenger to determine whether he/she can board an outbound flight to a foreign country. I argued with her that it was written clearly on the letter by USCIS that it could be used as a travel document. She called her manager and they ran through some rule book and eventually let us board the plane, which was about 5 minutes before take-off time.

On the return leg from Phoenix to SJC, the BCP pulled us aside into a room to run some check on my wife's residency status. We had about 2h10min between 2 flights. Waiting in the long line to fetch luggage, take fingerprints etc. took almost 40 minutes. Sitting in that BCP room for them to run the check took another 30 minutes. Now, anyone who has been to Phoenix airport knows how big it is and yet there is no airport shuttle service. We had to run like marathoners with 2 little sleeping babies, 2 carry-ons and pushing a stroller to the security line. It was an experience that we certainly don't want to repeat. To be fair though, the airport personnels knew about our situation and they kept everything open just for us to go through the scanner, re-check in our luggage and led us to the elevator etc.

My advice is that if you travel internationally during this pending period, hold it off 'til you get your new green card or give yourself ample time at the airport and between connecting fights, preferably the former.

Yes, we had to re-schedule three times because we were out of the country.

I-130 Process

USCIS: 04/23/2012: I-130 mailed

NVC: 07/30/2012: Case received at NVC
U.S Embassy Interview: 11/01/2012: Interview and Visa approved!

Removing Conditions

10/19/14: Sent I-751

04/17/15: Approved
