Go to a driving school. I tried to teach my wife and it was too too stressful for both of us. She was able to pass her drivers test on the second try. How, she ever passed I will never know and I was allowed to be in the backseat of the car during her test. She scared the ####### out of me so many times. That was over 3 years ago and still when we go anywhere, I always drive.

She seems to do okay on her own because I am not there to stress her out. Otherwise my wife and I get along great.

It cost in the neighborhood of $40 per hour for driving class. Well worth the expense. My wife had 4 classes and she practiced a lot with me. We lived in Massachusetts at the time and she had to also pass the parallel parking test. Most states no longer require that as part of the drivers test. That was a challenge for her but we practiced it for hours and hours.

The driving classes did help her a lot. They gave her enough confidence so when she was with me, she did not panic so much.

I also went with a driving school, which included a couple of hours of classroom tutoring, followed by the written test, and then a few hours of driving practice. Got my learner's permit, then drove with my husband and his family for a couple of weeks and then passed the driving test on the first try. Both the written test and the practice test were administered by my driving school, so I only had to go to the DMV to pick up my licenses and do the vision test. That really made things a lot easier. Yes it can be expensive (my driving school cost about $400.00), but I found it money very well spent.

My wife failed her first drivers test with the drivers school she went going to. The state still gives the test but does it at the drivers school where all the people wait to take their test. The second time, she went to the DMV to take the test and that was when I was able to stay in the backseat of the car.

Perhaps your husband won't stress out. Easy said than done. Believe me, I thought I would be able to handle the stress. Boy was I wrong. After her hitting the curb going through an intersection and a couple of other close calls,, I had experienced enough of that type of stress to last me for a lifetime.

$400.00: how much money you were paying? per hour?
