They are taking too long, I have 5 petitions there that I filled out for some family members who are petitioning their kids that haven't been touched. Two of them have been untouched for over a year.

VSC takes about a year or two to process F2A petitions, or whenever the PD is close to being current.

This does not constitute legal advice.

I don't think they're slow, at least they weren't a couple of years ago, my K1 was approved in like 4 months I think. The thing is that you are F2A, they most likely won't touch your petition until your PD is close to becoming current.

They do this to give priority to people who have visa numbers available, such as children, spouses, and parents of USC's.

Your case wouldn't be delayed whatsoever, they just say it doesn't make sense to process now if it's just going to sit at the NVC anyway. So they would rather use that time to process petitions that need to be sent right away.

My cousin for example, petitioned her husband and his son (F2A) same case, and the petition wasn't looked at for 2 years. Every time she called to ask, they said the same thing. That they won't process it until the PD is close to current.

This does not constitute legal advice.

My priority date is the 4th March 2014. I feel like I've been waiting years to hear some news from the vsc. I am really missing my husband as he is in the states and I'm in Ireland with our son. is there anyway I could get information on how long more it will take before going to the nvc?
