I was given my x-ray and told to carry it with me on the plane because customs will want to see it at the POE when I try to enter the US. How many of you had the x-ray with you and actually had it looked at?

I packed mine in my checked luggage. The officers at POE are not medically qualified to understand the x-ray anyway. A full detailed report on your medical and x-ray are contained within your brown envelope. That's all they need.

There has been alot of talk about whether or not it is needed AND conflicting advice. Some people are told to pack it, others are not. I don't think anybody has actually been asked to produce it though.

It would have been a pain in the ####### to carry in in my hand baggage IMO.

The officer actually sneered at it when i tried to show him it or leave it with him - I dont know anyone who has had any interest at all shown ....

However, we are all mindful of sod's law, (I don't say Murphy's law as that is insulting to the Micks), and sod's law says you will get the one officer in the history of this galaxy who wants to see it... so take the thing and leave it in the toilets while you wait for your suitcase... take the sticker off so nobody can open a bank account using your ribs as ID

No one looked at Claudeth's at the POE but when we went to get her supplemental they wanted to do an xray so I whipped out the one from St. Lukes and saved us thirtyfive bucks! I recommend hanging on to it for at least the first year!

Magnolia31,

Customs will not want to see your x-ray - there is no way they can collect any duty on it. Immigration will not want to see your x-ray, either.

No one is going to want to see that x-ray ever again unless the medical evaluation of it, one of the medical report forms filled out by the Panel Physician, says that it shows something that will require followup.

It's a souvenir you get to keep of your K-1 process:-). Maybe your new doctor in the States will be able to use it for a comparison purpose for future xrays - otherwise it's a dust collector.
