In what numerical system does 29 come before 1? Why is verse 29 the starting point?

Don't be silly, in the Qur'an numbering system #1 is #5,

#9 is really #113 and #29 is really #85.

It may seem a bit schizophrenic but there is a method to the madness.

They arranged it so the longest surah is first and the shortest is last.

They threw chronological order right out the window so there is really no point

in trying to start at the beginning.

Nor was anyone discussing Surat chronology or arrangement. The arrangement of Ayat, or individual verses, are chronological within Surat.

Nah, I don't think so. The whole thing is too rambling and disjointed. It's like someone took a jigsaw puzzle and took it apart and put it back together
