Interview Date

Hi guys,

I have looked around but can't really find a solid answer anywhere so was wondering if anybody can help me. The US Embassy London has now received my medical results. I contacted them via the online form requesting to know what my interview date is.

Their response:

Embassy records show that the Immigrant Visa Unit has received the medical examination and forms required to process your application. Notification of the date and time of your visa interview will be sent to you within the next six weeks.

My worry is that as I put my planned wedding date as the 8th of November if they decide to honour it and get me an interview in time for that date I may not actually receive the letter before my actual interview date. I have also heard horror stories of London being very slow to send letters or not sending them at all.

As such I was wondering if there is a specific way to get my interview date before receiving the letter.

Many thanks,

Adam

My wife and I did not have any issues with receiving the letters. They were quick and spot on. You will just have to wait you should hear something within the 6 weeks. For us it was like 2 weeks.

Good luck.

The letters have been arriving just fine lately. That seemed to be a short lived problem I haven't hear any complaints about in months. If they happen to give out a short notice appointment, they email or telephone, ie "can you be here tomorrow?" Or a recent person got a 2 day notice via email.

Go read the UK forum. Talked about often in various threads.

Do you check the ceac website? Put in your case number and you will see the date with the most recent update on your case.

I was checking daily, hourly even, and literally the day after my Case Status was updated, I received Packet 3 in the mail, and the exact same thing happened for my interview date. Keep checking and when you see the date has updated, you will know they have sent you something and you will receive it the next day or the day after, depending on where you are. They send it first class.

We have watched the CEAC website everyday. London received our case the 17th (first update) then they updated it the 18th and then the 19th. whiteyadams (my fiance) had his medical on the 22nd. The case was then updated today, the 25th. He has still not received the first set of paperwork. Which we think is strange.

Thanks for clarifying. Yes that is strange, you should have received Packet 3 with one of those updates but then again mine took a while to arrive... what's really important is to get your interview date though!! Ok so today's update was your medical results being logged. If they have everything now including readiness form, expect to wait around 10 working days to be sent the interview letter. If you don't hear anything by then, contact the embassy but you do need to give them a few days to process it all.

Just a quick question.......did you influence any dates as your NOA2 was 19/8 and interview is 2/10. My NOA2 was 18/8 and my interview is 17/10 but our consulate receive date is the same?

Hi! I didn't contact the embassy, email them or do anything like that, just waited (in agony) like everyone else. The only thing I did do was put my planned wedding date as October 19th (on the DS160 I think??). I wasn't lying to get an earlier date btw, that is the date we put a deposit down for. We still might not make it, and we're prepared to postpone if we have to, before anyone kicks off at me for planning a wedding.

I have seen some other people also get their interview date after me, so I know I got lucky here and I am extremely grateful. After a hellish 7 months, I'll take a bit of luck.

Granted.

I was just trying to push the boundaries asking for it to be brought forward and they have in the last few minutes said NO nut as the old saying goes "if you don't ask, you don't get"

Regards and best wishes,

Rich
