Thanks for the update Gopher. Good job on the free prints... I paid £72.90 for the privilege.... but did get a Scotland Yard visit! Do you have your final interview date yet?

Cheers,

Amber

It was suppose to cost me £71.50 but the officer at the station didn't want the hassle of taking the money off me as they aren't really set up to take money off the public! Lucky me!

Only had my medical last Tuesday so I should be expecting to hear back from the embassy soon-ish. Hopefully I'll have the police check back before the interview. If not I'll just have to post it at a later date as you said.

That's good! My local station couldn't do me until this Thursday, so I decided to go with Scotland Yard instead. Speed it up! Hopefully it gets processed quickly in Australia.

Also, you probably already know this... but... someone told me that there are some forms to fill out for HRMC if leaving country.... you might get tax back... so worth doing :-)

Got my letter yesterday and my interview is on the 21st Oct at 8am.

Nothing yet from the AFP. They haven't taken any money off me yet so I assume it hasn't reached them. Royal Mail still say the package is still in transit. It doesn't look likely that I'll have it in time for the interview! :(

Regards

Niall

Yeah, same problem. My interview is a week today! I did email the embassy to let them know I probably wont have it and asked to delay my interview. They replied and told me that from the information I have provided I should still come even though I dont have it. So I will let you know how I get on. I imagine some sort of conditional acceptance until I have these fingerprints. I've tried researching to see whether these fingerprints actually take that long to turn around... seems to be mixed reviews. So hopefully we are some of the lucky ones. I've had an AFP check done without fingerprints (online application) in the summer and I had an email confirmation 24 hours later and the physical certificate within a week, so fingers crossed this efficiency holds true for these fingerprints!

Cheers,

Amber

Hi Amber,

Just an quick update. The AFP took money out of my account on Thursday 9th. So hopefully that means they have processed the fingerprints and are sending the certificate back now.

Not fast enough for you unfortunately. :(

Thanks Niall. Yes, me too. I actually rang the AFP on thursday. They told me they had been processed and were en route back to UK, so imagine same situation for you. So that is very promising that you will hopefully have yours in time. Think I will defo be pushing my luck on getting mine. You never know... the aussie post may be faster then ours.

I'll let you know how I get on this week with my interview, just in case you dont get yours on time and need to know next steps.

Cheers,

Amber

Hey,

Had my interview.... well that was a waste of £70. Passed without the fingerprints. He said the police check I had was sufficient. But bring yours just in case. I was honest from the start with them and said I think I dont have everything you need... but my interviewer said all was fine with my standard AFP check.

But... yay.... passed!!

Good luck with yours,

Amber

That's great news! Congrats!

A different interviewer on a different day might be someone who is a stickler for the rules but I should have the cert back from the AFP before my interview!

Yeah for sure, plus I already had a police certificate (just not fingerprint one), so imagine you'll need some sort of paperwork.

I defo think you'll have it in time though.

He just asked me " did you commit any crimes in australia".... I was like "nope, I was very well behaved" and then that was all okay.

Cheers,

Amber

The interview was a success!!

He never asked about the Police certificate so I never said anything about it! I did have just the normal one like yourself with me and obviously that was good enough!

Great news! Congrats. I had my interview last Tuesday and the CEAC website updated yesterday to say issued. Waiting for my email from courier to go collect it now. Will keep you posted!! Imagine this time next week you'll be at the same stage as me.

So nearly there. When do you fly to States?

Cheers,

Amber
