Obama's election did not improve race relations

He was setup because of his race. It's all a conspiracy.

no one said that. why do you think anyone here thinks that?

In November 1993, Shakur and others were charged with sexually assaulting a woman in a hotel room. Shakur denied the charges. According to Shakur, he had prior relations days earlier with the woman that were consensual (the woman admitted she performed oral sex on Shakur). The complainant claimed sexual assault after her second visit to Shakur's hotel room; she alleged that Shakur and his entourage raped her. As a result of the trial, Shakur was convicted of first-degree sexual abuse, and acquitted of the weapons and sodomy charges. The judge described the crimes during the sentencing of Shakur to 1½–4½ years in prison, as "an act of brutal violence against a helpless woman."[119][120] While appearing on the Arsenio Hall Show, Shakur stated he was innocent of all charges and he was hurt that "a women would accuse me of taking something from her" when he was raised by and was surrounded by females.[121] Shakur, did however, admit that he should have been more responsible with the people he surrounded himself with. After serving part of his sentence, Shakur was released on bail pending his appeal. On April 5, 1996, a judge sentenced him to serve 120 days in jail for violating terms of his release on bail.[122]

In October 1995, Shakur's case was on appeal but due to his considerable legal fees he could not raise the $1.4 million bail. After serving nine months of his sentence,[123] Shakur was released from the Clinton Correctional Facility due in large part to the help and influence of Suge Knight, the CEO of Death Row Records, who posted a $1.4 million bail pending appeal of the conviction in exchange for Shakur to release three albums under the Death Row label.[124]

We weren't talking in terms of equality, we were talking about criminal activity and how people defend and sometimes worship criminals.

you asked where it ranked.

then why are we talking about tupac? shouldn't we be talking about politicians, professional atheletes and celebrities that are (at least) alive?

Please- can we shift back to Obama? He's got a shot at this, really !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Let take a step back. Who do you think brought race into this? Who was behind the muslim, antichrist, birth certificate, Kenyan garbage?

Ask them that question. I don't know the answer you'll get, but don't expect a lot of eye contact.

They're only fooling themselves, but they are doing a good job of that.

According to some here, we all love him like he's God. Even his most staunch haters that are black aren't asking about his religion or his birth certificate. There are black birthers to be sure. But a large amount of black people aren't questioning any of the above things mentioned.

IMO, the reason for some of it (not all of it) - is this. They could put a question on the census asking people to identify themselves as racist or not and you would get 100% saying no. No one wants to be a racist. No one wants to look at themselves in the mirror and see that. And yet racism exists.

On the other hand, if Obama's not a real American, well hey people can get behind that. Can't have a foreigner as president. We all learn that in grade 3. And if he's the antichrist, well then we have God on our side to take this guy down. Lets get to it.

People should have stuck to finding the flaws in his policy and his experience. For those who take the low road, it's not easy to turn back.

That's because racism isn't protected by the law anymore. And since you can actually get in trouble for it, folks are trying to distance themselves from it. You still have folks who think it and post it here, but like I said before, they won't say it in public.

I found it amusing that folks are up in arms about his birth certificate, and yet at one point in time, there was talk about amending the Constitution so Arnold Schwarzenegger could run for President. Funny how that works huh?

When you take the low road, you have to admit you're wrong when you can't prove your theories. Most folks don't want to do it. I've gotten into some serious debates with actual racist people IRL. I must say, there is something satisfying when you have some guy trying to tell me how he's better than me and then I beat him at his own game. The look on their faces are priceless.

All current polls in the US show race relations took a nose dive when mister nosey himself took office in 2008. He took his stick and stirred and stirred until it bubbled and got thick. When it began to burn, he stirred some more. Hell, this putz of a prez done real good tossing goodwill about. Just as long as good Will is white he is painted in whatever color the putz in chief wants to use him for. Hows that working out for ya prez? Your black approval rating lives in the stratosphere where there's no oxygen anyway. The rest of us down here in 'oxygen-ville' think you really suck.
