Everyone's situation is different. For some it was planned, for others it just happened. I don't know what your situation was, but I'm assuming it's the right one for you and your fiance. Don't get too hung up on my words, I was responding to the OP.. and since he asked specifically, that's how I answered. My personal situation we felt it was better to wait. For both of us it's our first child, we aren't that far off an approval (6 months at worst.. unless AP), and we really wanted to have that experience together.

Good luck :)

I wanted the same thing word for word, but like you said "it happens". I can't complain too much as my fiance is in Mexico, which will allow me to see her a few times before this process ends. Sigh.

My Fiancé in Vietnam wants me to get pregnant on my next visit because she believes that it will speed up the process.

If you're a male, then getting pregnant may not be an option for you. If you are a female, then you could get pregnant.

She has a friend that did it and got a faster interview,

Not because she was pregnant.

but she says she has 2 other friends that are not pregnant that are waiting, and she said that the wait can be over 2 years for an interview if she is not. I don't think this is a great idea for several reasons.

Not being pregnant does not enter into their cases.

My questions are: Would this do any good at all?

No

Could this make things more complicated?

Sure

Are there other and better ways that can help her to get a faster interview?

No, unless you enlist in the military and get sent to the front lines.

Whose getting pregnant?

Regardless, it certainly will not speed things up and may very well slow things down. The beneficiary could potentially have complications or severe morning sickness which could delay an interview, etc.

And what about being there to support the mother through the pregnancy/birth? Your absence may be a thorn in your relationship for years to come.

Just some things to consider.

My friend and his wife did the same thing to help their case, also from Vietnam. Now she is over 5 months pregnant and they are still in the process of their application. She did not even have her medical yet. He is worried sick over it, obviously. There is much to consider. Cant fly after you are 7 months pregnant so if you get your visa before you will have to wait and give birth there. If you do that than there is more paperwork to register the new born at the embassy so he/she can come with you to the states and so on. So yeah, its something to think about because its not easy at all.

Haha... such a Russian response. That was funny. You are right though i did not understand at first at all who is trying to get pregnant.

If you plan the pregnancy sometime, great! If you don't and it happens, still great, congratulations. But leave the visa out of it. It won't expedite anything except your anxiety level, worrying about it. :) Best wishes to you!

Considering Vietnam is a tough embassy and more tough on K1's ask your fiance' what if you get denied. Than what? What is plan B and maybe C.

She also maybe insecure in your relationship and wants to make sure by having your seed... But please do not bring a child in this world just to maybe try to hurry a visa. I have a child in an Asian country with a woman I thought i was in love with.. Guess what?? no longer in love with her but i do support a child i can rarely see.. so be careful in just making a life on a whim of any kind the only one that will suffer is the child..Good luck on your visa but please reconsider the reason for having a child..

Had a baby in Vietnam with the wife waiting for a CR-1. Having a baby speeds up nothing but the wife's family were all convinced it does..........wrong. If she's not pregnant now just hold off a few more months. You'll have plenty of time for baby making once she's in the US.

I did the CRBA at HCMC and the entire process took a 8 days from scheduling the interview to receiving all documents back by mail. I was shocked by the speed. It did take 5 weeks to get the Vietnam birth certificate, house book updated and VN passport for the baby.

So her getting pregnant and the possibility of having the baby in Vietnam could actually slow you down a great deal.

Not related to visa one tip I can give is find out about her cultural beliefs on confinement. VN women believe in being confined for one month after birth. This practice was a huge culture shock for me with all of it's rules.
