Yes, I read her post and my link supported what she said. Relax. I realize it is Monday morning, but still...

Sure it supported the part about expedite due to the typhoon. But I'm still waiting for the actual proof of her claim that with or without the Typhoon, Filipino petitions are expedited anyway and that "their cases can't be held to the same standard as everyone else"

To the OP to clarify, I mean to say that the wait times of those of the Philippines can't be held to the same standard as other petitioners because they have been expedited, so you have to look at everyone else's who is not expedited. That will give you a better average, but not a definitive answer.

Wow, quite some emotions here...

Anyway, when I started my immigration journey, my timeline predicted a wait of 4 months. Then the big slowdown happened at VSC, and it got pushed back to 7 months. My actual NOA2 came at about the 6-month-mark. As you can see, the timeline is not accurate. Don't rely on it too much.

If I were guaranteed to wait 7 months, I would take it. I think 6 is excellent, 8 is on the long side but normal and 9 is god-awful long.

My timeline says - between November 2nd and 17th. I would like to know, how chances are we get our approval by that time.

Please, share, if your petition was approved within the predicted time frame or not.

Thanks!

I think it depends on so many variables that it is difficult to really predict. I would only use the predicted time frame as a guide. Our petition was approved much faster than expected and our entire K-1 process took less than 3 months. But again, it really depends on so many different things that it is hard to say how fast (or slow) a petition will be processed.

When we filed this time last year, our estimated approval date was the end of November (approx 60 days). However, the petition was approved at TSC in 33 days. It's disheartening to see that TSC appears to now be operating at a snail's pace. There are many variables to consider. It's merely an estimation and could be off either way.

She could have scheduled a month earlier, but we waited for my vacation time at end of December. 102 days from NOA1 to interview. We were surprised at the swiftness.

LOL lies! You can believe that if you want to, if it makes you feel better, but so many people who applied before you most likely did the same thing you did, which was follow the instructions to the T and yet they are still waiting. Whether you want to admit it or not, your petition was expedited for simply coming from the Philippines. Philippines based petition don't count because they are in a special expedited category of their own that only Filipino petitioners are benefiting from. Stop wallowing in ignorance and look at the updated timelines of petitions from the Philippines and see the quick approval ratings of those compared to that of other countries and petitioners. Don't get me wrong, everyone is happy for any couple reunited, but in the case for the Philippines, the majority of which which are expedited whether effected by the typhoon or not, their cases can't be held to the same standard as everyone else. If anything, while the Philippines have the most K1 petitions of any country, the fact that they are still being expedited is proven by the fact that nearly every daily approval has a Filipino benefactor approved in 1 month, two months top. Just saying what everyone is thinking and too polite to say for fear of being banned from the thread or having their comment removed.

BTW Original Poster, I don't think the VJ estimated timeline really matter since people don't update their timelines like they should and it doesn't seem to to take in account the transfers - at least for TSC.

I am not sure why he could not mention it in order to avoid more controversy but, his NOA1 and NOA2 (7/05 and 9/19/2013 respectively) were prior to Typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) making landfall which was November 8, 2013. So he is correct in that he was not expedited due to the Typhoon.

With that said, yes, a majority of Philippines petitions, post November filings, were expedited due to the disaster whether the beneficiaries were directly affected or not. So, to the OP, I agree that you need to take that into consideration when estimating timelines (other than CSC as they were pretty close in approvals to the expedite dates regardless).

Of course everyone is welcome to post in every thread and I don't think anything bad was meant by the original comment. The poster was simply pointing out exceptions that would skew the requested information...:) Good day all.
