K1 visa does 5 year old child attend interview if travel later?

My fiance has a 5 year old child whom I listed on my 129F. We would like to bring his child to the US a few months after the wedding. Will my fiance's child have to accompany him to the K1 interview at the Embassy? Will his child have to be interviewed later, at the time we intend to bring him to the US? Is the answer to this question Embassy-specific?
