If the preznit wants "immigration reform", this would be an ideal place to start. :ranting:

GOP Lawmaker: Border Patrol Caught Same Illegal Alien Crossing into US 44 Times

On Friday, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) spoke at the annual Eagle Forum in St. Louis, Missouri. Chaffetz told the audience about the open US border with Mexico.

If you’re a Mexican they’re going to take a picture, take your fingerprints, give you a drink of water, and then get you in a van, or whatever it is and send you back across. Now, is there any consequence for coming across multiple times?
In fact, I asked these officers and one officer told me, he said, “I caught the same guy 44 times.”
Do you know how expensive it is for you and I to pay for that? 44 times. There’s no consequence for coming across. So, you might as well keep trying.

By processing this fellow and changing diapers manpower is used up... The diversion is created in this area of the border that leaves other areas totally unattended....Clear shot to anytown USA for the rest of the undocumented democrats. And a few radical whatever that would love to get to NY

The problem is lack of desire to actually stop this. If you want to stop " most " people from doing something, then you need to set the punishment level higher than the reward level. Since we fly many of these trespassers home anyway, we should make the aliens pay a portion of the return trip home themselves. We should fly them as far south as possible and cut them loose then. Let them worry about how to get back to their country of origination at their expense. I noticed that Chile sometimes rents out islands off of their coast, this would make an ideal location for a drop off point for those who insist on breaking the immigration laws of the USA. I am certain that the rent on these islands is a drop in the bucket compared to the cost that we pay now for processing and deporting repeat offenders. The border hoppers would have plenty of time while trying to get back to whatever country they came from to think about their unlawful actions and decide if it is worth it! I am certain this would actually act as a deterrent after we shipped a few south for an island vacation.

Mmmm, no. Polling shows the public is all for tougher enforcement:

  • 67% of Americans view illegal immigration as an extremely or very serious problem
  • 68% of Americans disapprove of President Obama’s handling of illegal immigration while only 31% approve
  • 51% of Americans support accelerated deportation of Central American minors, with only 18% opposed.

So the public mandate is there in spades. It's just this preznit, who thinks he can wipe his fat patoot on the constitution and the public will with impunity. :ranting:

As we all know, many are being flown further into the country so they can get all comfy and not show up for deportation hearings. Again: O'bama giving the country the middle finger. <_<

Also, "Mr. Transparency" has given orders that federal offices not divulge info regarding prosecution of border crossers, contrary to federal law:

The federal government refuses to say whether prosecutors in Yuma, Arizona, have scaled back a years-old program that guarantees jail time for most immigrants caught crossing the border illegally and which law enforcement officials say is crucial to public safety.

Reports that federal prosecutors have stopped some prosecutions under Operation Streamline surfaced nearly two weeks ago when Arizona Sens. John McCain and Jeff Flake wrote a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder seeking information on the status of the zero-tolerance program that circumvents the civil immigration system and lumps together months’ worth of criminal proceedings into one day for immigrants caught crossing the border illegally.

Yuma County Sheriff Leon Wilmot said in a letter to the senators that he had been informed that federal prosecutors in Yuma are no longer going after first offenders.

But the government has been completely silent on the issue. Public affairs officials from the Department of Homeland Security, Justice Department and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection have all refused to answer questions about whether the program has been scaled back.

Brett Worsencroft, president of the Border Patrol union for Yuma Sector border agents, said the U.S. Attorney’s Office has in fact ended prosecutions of first-time offenders.

Nice, eh?

Excellent; along comes Mr. "But they're not illegal!". Have you more misinformation to contribute today?

Me thinks he's near the northern border, (of California and Oregon) ...Reading, CA...wait, shouldn't that be Redding, CA?

I said that the term 'illegals' was a misnomer. Being in the US without documentation is not a crime. However, you are perfectly free to cackle at your own cleverness if you so wish.

Nope, just pointing it out in case you're amenable to correcting it. However, it could be construed as misinformation again no?

Great, it has nothing to do with the subject. You are free to make of it whatever you want to.

I get it now. You're "Oh no!" comment adds bearing and clarity to the subject. Have a great day in Reading!

Wow, you're thick-headed. Please go back to the other thread and by all means rebut the US Criminal Code I posted proving you wrong, or do it right here. You sorta just bailed out of that thread, and for good reason.
