The whole log is unnecessary, just a couple snippets of you two communicating 2-3 times a month over the span of when you filed up to the interview.

After what my girlfriend went through with the whole tourist visa process, I'm paranoid. It's like you're guilty until proven innocent and they assume you're a liar and a conniver who's just trying to get into the country. I was afraid if I just put a few snippets it wouldn't be enough or they would think it was possibly fabricated. So I had like 82 pages of skype conversation screen shots and call timers.

Is it really over kill? should I just take pages from each month? I just don't want there to be any trouble. I figure too much information is better than too little.

I brought a screen shot of our skype convos 2x a month, once around the 1st, again around the 15th. They just want to see that you've continued the relationship. That along with phone logs, text logs, emails, handwritten letters or packages in the mail... if you go/went back again for a visit while it is/was processing, that looks good too.

Best bet is to actually BE THERE for the interview. Not all embassies will allow you in the room for the interview, but your presence will be known, so it makes an impact!

You can definitely bring them all. But I would recommend that you put aside a smaller stack with snippets every couple weeks (or every week if you like), and offer the larger one to the CO if they want it.

But it really depends on the content of those snippets. It should show the natural evolution of a legitimate relationship....talking about the latest video game doesn't qualify.

Heynow. In my relationship talking about the latest videogame is like foreplay. :P

The thing is, most of our conversations were over a voice call. So most of it is chit chat with a few meaningful conversations. We're constantly talking rather than texting or emailing. Will this be an issue? I made sure to input call timers. Some times we'd talk for like 3-4 hours! Edited by Jekt

We would do the same, but we also emailed eachother, I'd text his email, he'd email my phone, call logs to and from his magicjack to my phone (I bought him one and brought it with me on the first visit), social networking logs/status updates. Any evidence of your communication is good.

The quality of the evidence is important too. It should show you two talking about your future together, talking about your families, planning your wedding, etc. You can show the call logs, but without any content, it would be hard to tell that you're communicating, unfortunately.

The quality of the evidence is important too.

IMO the quality or content of the evidence is hugely important. That is why I suggest to everyone to purposefully generate all kinds of tangible evidence...stop just talking on the phone, since you can't show to another person what you talked about. Just because you talk on the phone doesn't show a relationship...just talking on the phone.

It should show you two talking about your future together, talking about your families, planning your wedding, etc. You can show the call logs, but without any content, it would be hard to tell that you're communicating, unfortunately.

Yes, besides video games, there should / must be other conversations about other stuff.

Non-English stuff should then be translated.

If it's not in English or the language of the country she's interviewing at, you will need to translate it.

Are you serious? I have to translate it all?

If you want it to be considered. She'll be speaking English mostly here in the US so start practicing that now.

She already speaks English very well. She's preparing to take the TOEFL. Early on she wasn't comfortable speaking to me in English, so we spoke Greek. Now that we've been together, she's not as shy, and she speaks more English than Greek.

But again, I have a question, do I need to put screen shots of my Skype, or can I just copy and paste the text?

You can copy/paste but screenshots are better, as it shows that it was a skype conversation. Helps if in a couple you're both on camera too (shows that it's you two). :)
