News is saying that Manila is shutting down due to the rain. I just called the Bayview Hotel across the street from the embassy and they are there working and all is ok. The rain is supposed to end tomorrow, so hopefully no interviews are impacted.

No mention on the embassy website about being closed. Thankfully it is approaching the weekend so the storm will be gone by Monday.

Yeah, this one is not bad.

I can remember the one where the sea wall was demolished and Roxas Blvd. was flooded 3 feet deep.

And how about "ondoy" ......that was a catastrophe.

The name threw me off. It's "Mario" in the Philippines. I was worried that family would be impacted by yet another (different) storm.

It was on the news yesterday morning that the US embassy continued with the appointment interview.. I just dont know what happened if they still continued until afternoon, coz Manila is like ocean again.
