Hi,

I have a question. Can I send packets with collected documents to NVC before paying the IV Application fee or should I wait until the payment becomes invoiced and i can complete the DS-260 form? I have already paid the AOS fee and submitted DS-261.

Thank you (F)

We sent both the AOS and IV packages together after the AOS showed "Paid" in the portal.

We had no issues with doing so nor did many friends that I have here on VJ. It saved us some time.

Hello everyone...I had sent my AOS packet off in Jan 2015, as soon as I paid the AOS Fee $120. I waited until I was able to pay the IV Bill and then I sent off the Civil Docs Feb 2015, I then waited for the invoice status to say Paid to then complete the IV Application, which I just did today. Now my question is.....my 60 days review for both packets starts when?

Hello, everyone.

Does anybody know, when my deadline for sending the package is, if NOA-2 is dated by May 24th 2014, but I was paying AOS and visa fees in November and December 2014?

NOA-2 says, I have 1 year for the completion of the process. If ,they don't hear from me within a year, the petition is closed. But probably, that year now counts from the time I last submitted the fees. Am I right?

Travel.state.gov allows for electronic/email submission of the package, but I-864EZ FAQ's say DO NOT attempt to submit the form electronically.

Has anyone succeeded in submitting the AOS financial docs and civil docs, per checklist, electronically?

Thanks in advance...I'm creating PDF files, keeping them under 5MB for each doc, but am afraid to submit after seeing the "DO NOT attempt" warning.

hi everyone...i had a question about the size of the ONE email. i scanned each of our documents into a .pdf. in all we had 16 documents...some of them multiple page documents. the visa center's instructions ask that the email be under 5MB. wow! so i went back through our .pdf's and realized that just one of them is 6MB i re-scanned at a lower DPI being sure they were still able to be clearly read.. i realized there was absolutely no way for those 16 attachments to be under 5MB and still be legible. sooo when i attached them to my email...gmail suggested that the files automatically be uploaded to my cloud and a link for each one be provided in the email. i sent the email that way...today is day 30 and i have not heard anything except at about day 10 i received an email saying they had received our DS-260 and to be sure we completed all of the other steps...fees etc. it also mentioned sending only ONE i864. we have a joint sponsor so both of the i864's were sent. correct?? any input would be realllly appreciated. thank you.

ps...i've called the visa center multiple times and just get a message to try again later they are too busy.

"under 5MB for each doc" is an assumption i think...i researched and researched their wording and was left to assume weather they meant each doc or each email. i read somewhere that their email server may reject anything over 5MB. so that would mean the enitre email full of .pdf's. ??

Follow-up: Against the instructions in the I-864EZ FAQ's, I submitted the forms electronically and they were accepted. I think some of the content on some of the websites is obsolete, inaccurate or otherwise just wrong....too bad, makes it extremely stressful and tiring for us applicants to navigate through this. Check blogs, check many sites....come to your own conclusions, make decisions, and then deal with stuff best you can....all we can do in life, right?

-

Based on my experience, you actually CAN submit the I-864EZ form electronically.

5MB limit is not for each document....applies to sum total of all attachments, based on my experience. I sent AOS email and attachments were 4.80MB and I sent a Civil Docs email and the attachments were 4.42MB.....I put numbers in each attachment file name and used the numbers on the cover letter where everything was listed.....worked for us!

I think they want it all in one shot.

We paid AOS and did the agent of choice. Then we sent off AOS form only.

Last week, after like 45 days of not reviewing agent of choice, we called NVC and the person who took the call was able to review it with us over the phone, 2 days later we got the IV fee option to pay. And then we sent the IV documents. I got an email about 4 days after we sent it saying that they received the docs and give them 30 days to review.

Today, we got an email checklist for missing docs. There are no checkmarks as to what is "missing", so I don't even know what they are asking for. But I think this is because we only sent the AOS form by itself and they finally reviewed it after 50 days and are probably asking for the IV docs. They haven't realized that we sent them separately last week. I sent a bar code cover sheet with each package (the first one was the AOS cover sheet) and then the coversheet with barcode that has the checklist of all the documents (AOS and IV) on one sheet. I don't know how/if they will ever match the documents to each other from the two mailings. We are going to ignore this cheklist since we've already sent the docs.

This place is so disorganized, it's almost unbelieveable that they get anything done.

thank you for your input. it looks like this thread also has additional new comments. after reading through everything here...i've rescanned everything in dpi 100 greyscale...it is still over the limit of 5mb. i'm going to try black and white too...see what i come up with that way. it sounds like someone received a checklist for sending two different emails. i think the fix for that is to mention in the body of the email that this is email 1 of 2 or 2 of 2 and explain that it is impossible to send 16 documents...some of them multiple page...into one 5mb email. so that is what i will do. thank you again for your input. i think that the option to email is an awesome new process that needs some tinkering of it's own. starting with the instructions they give. i spoke with them today...after one week of calling and recalling...my call was finally answered. i explained that it has been longer than 30 days since i sent the packages with links to the documents in them.....she said we never received your email. i said can i forward it to you so that you know i actually did send it and it be put as priority. she said no, it needs to go through the nvcelctronic email. i said is there something i can add to the subject of the mail so that they understand that i've send twice and this should be priority. she said no, you will need to wait an additional 30 days. i asked if this happens often...she admitted frequently. i think after i compile my 2 emails and send them i will then contact senator patty murray. our national visa center needs better accessibility for communication and someone who can write clear and concise instructions on their offical website. meanwhile it's been 80 days since my husband and i have been able to see each other. *sad wife :/
