The authorization to travel and permanently reside in the US can be obtained at any time; there is no expiration date.

ok i am/was just worried that if i pay a lawyer to draft it up and get it all done and were not as lucky on the timeframe to obtain approval that they may say its not up to date.

It's usually suggested to obtain this approval......before you file any visa petition....since it is a total deal breaker and for some, or some countries or situations, can take a long time or could involve some persuasion to be negotiated.

You will certainly need a notarized authorization letter for the visa interview at the embassy/consulate, plan accordingly.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
