Left NVC now on its way to the embassy

Hey guys,

So I just happened to check my case status online at NVC.. on the website it stated; Your case is in transit to the Consular Section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center.

I just got off the phone with a representative after waiting 40 minutes in line, and she told me that they did not schedule the interview, however they just forwarded the case to the Dominican Republic. I'm not sure if i should believe her. What do you guys think?

BTW NOA2 was Sept 3. Our case has been moving fast. Anyone from DR think that maybe we will get our interview in November?

Another question. For the interview we have having a cosponsor for the Affidavit of support. I am a part time worker and a full time student. Do I also need to fill out an Affidavit of Support, show recent paysubs and employee letter?

If they don't give you the appointment date, you can get your case # from the NVC and then look on the DR consulate website for yours > http://santodomingo.usembassy.gov/scheduled_appointments.html

Also, yes, you as the USC petitioner must also provide an I-134 and supporting documents, even when using a co-sponsor.

For K-1 Visa, appointments are set by the embassy in the DR, not by NVC. I had the same statement and I called the embassy to confirm and the answer was as I stated above.

I have almost the same situation Do you check your status on https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do? Is it NVC Status check website?

And also should I call to NVC to get case# or can I know it somewhere from Internet?

My NOA2 is 15 Sept

Green color.. Wait at least 2 weeks after NOA2 to call NVC and they will give you a new case number. Once you have that check the NVC case status https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

How long it will take before the embassy interview because my Dear he is coming to visit me in one month Should he bring all docs for interview? Or it will be very early for it?

Green color.. My case has been moving around pretty quickly. It got to the NVC this monday and yesterday they send the case to the embassy. Im not sure if for your country it will be the same, but our interview might be around November.

If the interview is within 1 month after his arrival, I think he should be able to take all of the documents with him. For my case its a little different, since the Dominican Republic requires me to be there during the interview as well( I am the petitioner). So when I go for the interview thats when I will have all of the documents ready.

This is for a K-1. The NVC does not do the interview scheduling for K-1 visas. The consulate either makes it for you, or in most cases, you schedule your own.
