Okay my fiancee lives in UK for 10 years but a citizen of Nigeria...as far as the Police report/certificate I was only thinking that he needs one from UK...Will he also need one from Nigeria...

This is what I found on the subject:

A police certificate is required from a country in which the applicant lived for more than one year (six months if you are applying for a K visa) after turning 16 years old. Information on how to secure police certificates from countries where these are available may be obtained by contacting U.S. Embassy Manila’s Immigrant Visa Branch, or an Embassy/Consulate of the country from which the Police certificate is required.

The State Department's Visa Office offers online information on availability of country documents including police certificates through its Country Document Finder. http://travel.state.gov/visa/reciprocity/index.htm Click on the letter that begins the country name, select the country and scroll down to "Documents".

Well i understand your concern - i can tell you that i also have been searching for similar answers and i would say yes get the police certificate from his country too....i spent 2 tours abroad because my ex was in RAF so i was a dependant - one was 1984 more that 20 years ago...and when i emailed the consulate in london i was absolutely advised to get one fromboth countries - so i would say send for it and asap as they can take a few weeks to get back.

Do these police reports expire?

I believe a police report is valid one year from date of issue, however the consulate might want one more recent I would imagine.

I sincerely hope I'm not expected to get a police report from Jamaica where I lived until I was 19!!
